I recently finished up this 1964 Olds F-85 drag car. It's built from a resin body and the interior and chassis from a'63 Tempest kit. The paint and graphics are my own design based on what I thought a fictional Hurst exhibition car might have looked like if they had built one before the "Hairy Olds". There are more pics and all the build details on my site at the link.

More pics and a build story.

Killer original design Sven! It truly captures the look of the old Hurst team style.

As usual, your models are cleanly built and executed.

Bravo sir.

Great build, Sean! I always thought that kit was one of AMT's more bizarre designs ... why AMT felt that car needed to have the roof whacked off, I'll never know! B) Still, your model makes it look like it could've been something that was built in 1:1?

Hmmm, wonder if the molds for that one still exist? Hello, Round 2?

I believe that Model King requested to re-issue this kit and was told the molds could not be found.

S,

Beautiful car, love the imagination, how bouts a look see at the power plant,.

It has an engine, but I mostly build curbside models so you wouldn't be impressed by it. I hate detailing engines and I don't build models for contests. I really admire those who do build nicely detailed engine bays, but for me, modeling is supposed to be fun. So, I just concentrate on the parts of model building I like.
