Jim B Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I've seen some hood conversions for a 9300, and you're offering a 9400. What's the difference, and what years were these offered? The 9300 conversion I saw used the 4300 cab, so I'm guessing that's 1980s, and your 9400 is 1990s.
cargostar Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 The 9300 became the 9900. The 9400 was one of the replacements for the Transtar 4300. The 9200 is a slightly shorter BBC than the 9400 was. All of the 9000 cabs are the same, and have roots back to the 4200/4300/Paystar cab from the 70's.
cargostar Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 And..... there were some non-I 9400s that had the I style hood, with the sloped headlights.....

cargostar Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 We are in the home stretch...... Just finishing the dash, and then test fitting to go...... I will be releasing it hopefully within the next 30 days. Also, I am finishing up a 9900I to be released shortly after the 9400I

Chuck Most Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Yeah....I know Chuck....I know..... Oh! Oh! Oh! And while I'm covering the D-series thing...
cargostar Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 Nice Ambulance! Not quite as flashy as the one here, but similar.
cargostar Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 Here are a couple shots of the 9900I hood. Note.....this is the shorther BBC "I" hood, not the longer BBC "Ix" hood.
cargostar Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 At the moment, I'm concentrating on just getting them done. The non-I prosleeper cab is going to be after the I daycabs, and then I prosleeper.
mikemodeler Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Sweet! Know what would go well with these? Come up with that D series pickup (with 4x4 chassis & driveline) and I will buy several! While I appreciate the big rig pieces, I really dig the D series and Travelall subjects more!
cargostar Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 Did you see this other project of mine? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47534&hl=travelall&fromsearch=1
Chuck Most Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Don't worry, Mike... I'm constantly hounding Dave for those D-series trucks.
cargostar Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 Well...... Its DONE!!! ;D Not shown, but included, is a vacuumformed windshield. If anyone is interested in one, drop me a pm.
chuckyr Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) Well worth the wait. No sleeper? Edited September 30, 2012 by chuckyr
BigBad Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Very nice job Dave! Which kit do you suggest as a donor kit? My guess would be the Transtar 4300 but what about the set-back axle for this hood?
cargostar Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 The 4300 would be the best. You need the floor, and some of the interior parts. The daycab was first to be finished, a 72" mid rise Prosleeper is next.
