RJWood Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Great work Matt. It looks just like Dads car. I like the 2 pics with both model & your dads car together. Great stuff.
george 53 Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 NICE job Matt. I like the body side mouldings! Perfect touch!
Scalper Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Cool pics with the 1/1 car. Model looks great. nice match on the paINT.
sjordan2 Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) Nice work – looks like a perfect paint match – and it's great to have a kit available for a car you actually own. The only kit of a car I owned came out many years after I sold it – Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider. By the way, your kit has a more realistic stance than your dad's car. Or is he a moonshine runner? Junkman Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Is this special order 1970 Aegean Aqua? How did you replicate it?
MikeeD Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Nice job!!! If I was your Dad, I'd sure be proud of you. I have daughters, they wreck cars, they don't build 'em.... ;)
charlie8575 Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Great job, Matt. That's a model to be proud of. Charlie Larkin
base905 Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Is this special order 1970 Aegean Aqua? How did you replicate it? not sure on the colour, all we know is that it came factory, we always thought it was called aqua marine (38 38) just a couple months back my dad went to get a match for the paint cause we are repainting the 1:1 car and found out its called argent green, and was a colour from 1977 not 70, so i guess it was a special order in 1970 i painted the model with 2 diffent shades of green from dupli color 1st bright teal, 2nd colipso green i think thanks for the comments everyone!!!! David G. Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Excellent replica! Some of the photos almost look like a Photoshop trick!
Tony T Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Cool, Matt! Nice job. One thing I'd consider adding. Take pictures of your Dad's licence plates, resize and print them out for your model. Would give it a nice touch, I think. I did find Ontario plate decals a few years ago, and there were some blanks, and separate letters so you could replicate any plate, and even the renewal sticker for the rear.
