Rick Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 After more than a year and a half, I can finally call another model done!! Between migraines, home maintenence, 1:1 car problems, and numerous other things, I finally got some good model time in!! Finished this one last week. Built mostly straight out of the box with only a couple of mod's, I thought you guys might like to see it! All comments good or bad are welcome, 'cause how else can I learn what I did wrong? Thanks for looking...... Rick
Tony Bryan Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Congratulations, and you have done a really nice job on it too, looks real good to me any plans for a trailer?
Rick Posted May 30, 2010 Author Posted May 30, 2010 Thank You! I really didn't expect any replies this late. Yes, I think I'm going to build one of the recently re-issued flatbeds for it........ Rick
whale392 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Looks good to me Rick......if mine looks 1/100th as good I will be happy!
highway Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I think it looks very nice, the yellow hubs compliment the wonderful two tone paint job nicely. The flatbed should look nice behind it, maybe even painted the same red (don't know of any place for the yellow, except maybe the frame rails) as the truck.
rronning84 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Looks great. I have that one on the bench right now. Your colors came out great.
Jim B Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Looks like a nice clean build. I like the two-tone paint job. Looks like maroon & yellow. Is that right?
Pete1980 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Another beautiful COE, and the colors are perfect!!!!I wanna do one of those at some point soon.If you do a trailer make sure you incorperate the color combo.
Rick Posted May 30, 2010 Author Posted May 30, 2010 Thank You All for the great compliments!! The colors are Tamiya Maroon over Tamiya Chrome Yellow. I liked the picture on the box, but my eyes couldn't tell if it was brown and yellow or maroon and yellow. I painted up a couple of plastic spoons in those colors and let my family decide. I think they made the right choice! Thanks Again!! Rick
Luc Janssens Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Hey that looks fantastic!!! Thanks for showing!!
showbuilder Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 very clean build......you could teach a lot of these guys on here how to do a build properly. looks like you have all your modelling basics covered, very clean division on your paint scheme, seam lines eliminated etc etc. very nice build!!!!!!!!!
SpreadAxle Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 You did a fine job on the stripes. That couldn't have been easy. Nice work.
Paul B Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Very nice clean build. I like the two tone paint and better yet on a COE!
Rick Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Thank You all, actually the stripes weren't all that hard, I did them in stages. That Tamiya tape sure makes things a lot easier!! Rick
