charlie8575 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I agree it does sit a bit high in the front; it's why I forever fiddle with things before gluing them together. Overall though, a really nice build. Great job. Charlie Larkin
MyBradKeselowski Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Other than the ride height, I think it's a very nice looking build. I like the color...
Tony T Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 The front ride height was how the kit was originally made. Later versions I believe had lower ride height (the Robocop II release for example). You did a nice job on that. Seems that kit was available forever, and no one built it! (I built 2 actually - 1 RC2, and 1 SHO-I think I have 1 of each left in the stash!)
Airfilter Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Thanks a lot guys. I modified the front suspension. And the engine, no extra. P.
Jim Gibbons Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Very nice build of one of Ford's better ideas. I used to see one race in the Firestone Firehawk series support race at the Canadian Grand Prix in the early '90s. With straight pipes, they had a really unique engine sound, and did quite well among all the smaller cars.
Rick Schmidt Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Great looking build. With a little work this can be a nice kit. As was said I'm glad to see you took the advice to lower it a bit Made a world of difference. 1 question is she silver or gold ??
dimaxion Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Just right . I do Factory Stock . It is a good build . Thanx ..
Airfilter Posted August 1, 2010 Author Posted August 1, 2010 Thanks a lot again 1 question is she silver or gold ?? This is "Light Autumnwood Pearl Metallic" Here's a color code GM code: 228A Du Pont code: B9429 P.
charlie8575 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 That looks much better. Took a nice build and improved it ten-fold. The 1990-91 SHOs, as I remember, were available in Oxford White, Light Titanium (silver,) black and Electric Currant Red. I think all had a titanium interior, which is a very light silver-gray. One of the Tamiya light gray military paints is a pretty good match for it. They'd have a darker gray dash. One year (1990?) they only offered a black interior. Charlie Larkin
nails3825 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 That turned out great! Good job on lowering the front end just enough to make it look "right"
Swifster Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Very nice build of one of Ford's better ideas. I used to see one race in the Firestone Firehawk series support race at the Canadian Grand Prix in the early '90s. With straight pipes, they had a really unique engine sound, and did quite well among all the smaller cars. I saw those same cars at Sebring in '92. The bad part? They had alreay wrecked both of them in practice before I got there. I might have to see about picking that kit up at some point as I had a 1:1 '89 SHO. I like the color on this car. Mine was black.
