Roy, you may not be abnormal, but you definitely aren't buying enough!! I have a collection of about 425+ unbuilt or barely started kits versus 3 finished!

Roy , while I wont divulge as to how many I actually have , lets just say I have enough to stock a Hobby store . I have them not because I'm investing in old plastic , iv'e got em on account of what I do with them . First I will build a lot of "Replicia Stocks " out of Hot rod kits . Yes , that sounds confusing . I also have them on hand for a ten year building plan to duplicate actual service stations , resturants , and a drive in . Since I refuse to pay "Yuppie speculator " prices for so called , Out of production kits , If I can see a stock replicia out of a kit , it's bought . Ed Shaver

Been building since 1978 (am 40 now). Have finished about 250 models. Have about 250 'used' restorable old builtups. Have about 1500 unbuilts, in storage in 3 states. Really need to consolidate everything in one place. Next house, next state.

Most of my unbuilts are kits I've bought new since 1997, when I got back in after the previous decade away (when I was in high school, college and grad school I didn't build much), though I have a number of vintage (early 60s through 80s) unbuilts to build eventually...

I've been building for about 42 years (I'm 47). My wife says I have too many too, but she understands, as she has a stash of wool for her hobby!

wow, and my friends tease me for having 45 unbuilt kits, lol. Some of you that have 300+ to over 1000, insane! But I'm a little jealous, lol. I can only imagine how many kits are out there snuck away in basements, garages, storage units, closets, etc. !! If I had kept every single one that I ever bought or received as a gift, I would probably have close to 100 or so. I have a lot of catching up to do, lol.

1...... just 1 if i get to more than one or two at a time i wont finish the one im working on, i would love to have a buch at once but i would end up with fifty half done models

For sure, who knows. Best guess 250-300, I may find out this weekend. We are having sewer work done next week so we are cleaning out the basement ( it's all being moved to the garage ). So I may sort & count while moving it all. Of course my wife is realizing how large her vintage glass/pottery collection is also !
