Even though I've got too many projects going right now, I couldn't keep my hands off of this hottie!

Monogram 1/24 1941 Lincoln chassis works nicely with little modification...glued it in place to stiffen body shell, did the edge trim on passenger side so far:

Decided to go with a conventional single cowl...if the rear passengers want a dashboard, get your own car! :P

Rough trimmed front wheel opening, drew on some lines for the door...mine is only going to have two doors. Will probably drop cockpit sides down as shown?

Not sure if this is going to be a fixed roof coupe or a roadster yet? Running boards? Bumpers? Opinions?

Thanks again Peter, you've got some skills my friend!

I am LOVING it! This is exactly what I wanted to see...variations and customizations to the basic body. I really like the modification to the front wheel opening...very cool. Keep it up. :)

After trying several different roofs (including chopping up a 1967 Corvette coupe :) sorry), I finally decided I liked the roof & windshield frame best from the AMT 32 Ford phantom Vickie. Actually using the body shell inside Peter's creation, to allow proper fitting of the roof, and for a cool interior! In fact, the kit will be giving up quite a few donor parts.

Here's how it looks with the roof in place, with enlarged, ovalized rear window, and cut- down body sides to flow with the theme:

that is gorgeous! If you decide not to use the Phantom Vickie wheels & tires let me know, I've been looking for a set for a WIP lol. What color are you planning to paint it?

It does look very cool. My deco is still in the box. It's waiting in line for completion of some other kits. I also need to practice scratch-building a frame for it.

Jeff...that is great!!! I can't believe that that is the car I designed.....I am so impressed. This going to be a killer build. I knew you guys could really take this car to another level. I have to tell you I am just sitting here smiling from ear to ear. I LOVE IT! B):rolleyes:B)

Nice job so far man, which wheels are you going to use ? IMO I liked the ones in your first mock-up, but either of those wheels will look good on it ;)

Can't wait to see more !!!

I kind of agree with Billy here; not unlike the Phantom Corsair using period wheel sizes and tires. That said, it will look great with a modern take, too. Your interpretation of Peter's design changes the aspect so well; it's remeniscent of the custom bodied Talbot Lagos, Delage, Bugatti Atlantic, etc. I was really tempted to order one of these bodies, but I don't have the parts stash or resources to do it justice.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments! B)

I'm just putting my spin on an awesome design by Peter, also hoping to inspire the others here lucky enough to get one of these cool bodies!

As far as wheels go, been trying a few, no decisions made yet, or for paint color either for that matter!

Michelle, if I don't use the wheels/tires from the Vickie for this or any other project, I'll drop you a PM. :)

Casey & Jose, this baby is in the box just as it looks here :( got started on something else and here we are over a year later with no progress  I have had the itch to get it going again, why do I have this "non-finish-itis"??? Am I the only one?

Oh, and thanks Virgil for the positive comment! :)
