Modelmartin Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I see quite a few of you signing off with your names and AKA whatever whomever! Is this the new cool thing that the cool kids are doing? Inquiring minds must know! Also Known As Modelmartin Ignatz McMartin!!!
LDO Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 My alter ego is from one of the funniest movies ever made. Been using it for a while. Had to add a disclaimer when someone got upset about me not using my real name...he apparently forgot how to read.
Harry P. Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I was going to go by Quentin McLemore Pomegranate III... but it sounded too pompous...
droogie Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I thought Beef was a pretty funny character. His demise is one of my favorite movie scenes. I saw the movie (over and over again) when I was in the Army. The base theater was one of the few sources of entertainment at lovely Ft. Dix, NJ.
Railfreak78 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Hey Andy. I didn't pay to much attention to very many signatures. I know I have done the AKA thing since I've joined and I'll give you a straight up answer. I did not do it to be cool I did it because places like here I have to use my name. Other places I've only been under Railfreak78 (started with Trains) Now you add social sites like Facebook and the fact that some people will only identify me as Brian or Railfreak I put it out there I'm both
DrewCfromSC Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 My nickname is given to me from years of shooting bikers....................... Im an amature photogerpher. I really like to have fun while shooting certain events. Drew
DocLong Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I've noticed it too...kinda strange if I do say so myself. Mine is more of a term of endearment given to me years ago. I don't know why but they tell me it comes with the job. Drew, I can't help but associate your last name, and user name with Dean...any relation?
VVhiplash Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Like railfreak I am on many boards where only my online nickname is used (Whiplash). I have been using it for 10+ years in the gaming/online world and frankly would turn around if I heard someone call out "WHIP" on the street...LOL...
Jon Cole Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Andy... leave it to you to make that observation! I used to display my alter-ego, anything from "Bloom County". Especially 'Bill the Cat', the most pathetic of all cartoon cats! But nowadays, I am much too mature to ever display such nonsense!
Chuck Most Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Andy... leave it to you to make that observation! I used to display my alter-ego, anything from "Bloom County". Especially 'Bill the Cat', the most pathetic of all cartoon cats! But nowadays, I am much too mature to ever display such nonsense! Huh. Really?
Chuck Most Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Chuck... you get "Avatar of the Week" nod! What, for the happy cat? Or the one I actually had when I posted that? Chuck Most- AKA Oklahoma Slim, AKA Biff Webster, AKA Also Known As.
Jon Cole Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 What, for the happy cat? Or the one I actually had when I posted that? Chuck Most- AKA Oklahoma Slim, AKA Biff Webster, AKA Also Known As. Cat's not just happy... it's wired! Kitty need another Latte?
mountaindewd Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 My nickname is given to me from years of shooting bikers....................... Im an amature photogerpher. I really like to have fun while shooting certain events. Drew Don't shoot me, but, what is an amature photogerpher? Do they live underground?
Jeff Sauber Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 This thread could sure use some Booh-Bahs... .......J.Sauber.....AKA "The Saubinator"
Modelmartin Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 .......J.Sauber.....AKA "The Saubinator" Now there is an AKA that is appropriate!
Darin Bastedo Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I'm so conflicted that my I am my own alter ego.
Jeff Sauber Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Those things Freak me the HECK out! Seriously. & my kids watched them - once - & were Mesmerized - it was like Visual Crack for 3 year olds. Even my wife said that we *might* be able to enjoy those if we were a high as a kite... Wheelman - AKA - Wondering How Everything Else Loses Momentum At Night... Oh Wait - not an Anagram? Yeah, My daughter used to watch that show...It never really had much substance to it...Just alot of silly jumping around and hypnotic colors floating everywhere. I think the show got cancelled or something.. I haven't seen it on the air for a couple years now. Those Booh Bah things kinda remind me of the Mcdonald's "Grimmace".....
Romell R Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 hmmmm......ahhhh....no, oh how about....nah too silly ...hmmmm. oh this is a good one....nah! too snooty , darn all the good ones are taken. I'll just be Romell A.K.A. It's Just Me
GOTH KUSTOMS Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Well I guess my AKA, or nick name has been Unforgiven, since I was a child, because I have always been very unforgiving to people, so it has stuck with me since then, even have it tattooed on my back, so the guy who pulls the trigger will know he has the right guy, and its on all the forums I'm on so, even in the game world.....
Modelmartin Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Wheelman - AKA - Wondering How Everything Else Loses Momentum At Night... Oh Wait - not an Anagram? That's an acronym. Anagram is when the letters are rearranged to make a different word. It's agood acronym, though!
Modelmartin Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Ok! I want to clarify a bit here. The AKAs I was speaking of are the full names that some folks are attcahing to their signature lines, NOT your screen names. Most od have screen names that are not our actual names. I am speaking of "Joe Jones AKA Pasquale Guido Luchinelli".
Chuck Most Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Gosh - Maybe I'll have to make an Acronym now - like We Heal Men or something...... That's just a little bit creepy...
Craig Irwin Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Some people call me "the space cowboy", Some call me "the gangster of love". And some people call me "Morrice" for some dumb reason....,
