From the "origami" period of F1 when the cars were made of folded sheet aluminum. If you've ever been up close and personal to one of these they are pretty scary stuff. Virtually nothing to protect the driver. When things went wrong, they went very wrong! I like the clean build and the detailed engine bits. V. nice indeed Mr. Raitz!cool.gifsmile.gif

I got to see a few cars from this era of F1 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Ca a couple weeks ago..they went out for a vintage race the morning of the Indy Car race.

They are pretty incredible to see up close in person, and the sound when they fire up...incredible. Took a few pics w/ my cell phone, incl.

Awesome job Curt. I ave to get around to doing mine. I have the newer issue with clear parts and Cartograf decals. Mine came with those decals on a separate sheet, I didn't know what they were for. That engine was beautiful. and you did a good job bringing it to life

Looks great Curt. I have two versions of that kit and have yet to get to work on it. I have one of the original production runs of that kit and a more recent clear body version ( I will never build it with the clear body though). One of these days I will get to it. I was always a Niki fan so I will build his version of it.

I had always hoped I could convert one into the "fan" car. Not sure what that would take to accomplish it but maybe one of these days....anyway...get job as usual and I like the variation with the different decals......Nice!

Thanx Peter

Just read on the "FIM" forum that MFH (Model Factory Hiro) just released a 1/20th scale multi-media kit of the BT46B "Fan Car"

of course it will only set you back $300.00 plus

If I do it, I would enjoy the challenge of the conversion...we'll see. Also, I see that Tamiya is readding the Wolf car in both 1/20 and 1/12 scale. I have an old Wolf and would like to get another.

Good news,

I'm lookin' forward to building a Tamiya Wolf F1 car in 1/12th and 1/20th scale again,

beautiful racecars - saw them @ the Long Beach GP many, many years ago

more than likely Tamiya will be throwing in some photo-etch goodies...

probably will build the Theodore version in 1/20th scale

Great work as usual Curt. Lauda is one of my all-time favorite drivers. Haven't gotten around to this kit yet, maybe I'll have to look for one.

Yes Curt, photo etched parts and cartograph decals and then, an inflated price

Do you just wake up in the morning and find these things sitting finished on your workbench? B)

I really don't know how you do it!!

I've had to repolish the Korben Cruiser several times just to get rid of the fingerprints from handling it so soon after it was painted, and I barely put any paint on this one..blink.gif

Nice job, as usual!!

Hey Curt, nice work of art this model turned up..Thanks God I'm one of the few F1 fans here...Actually, my next build will be an F1, but in 1/43. This one is warming me up to my next build up.
