What Just Happened???

So I came to the site to check stuff out for a little bit like I do every night, and a black screen came up saying it was HACKED!

I was like, "OH NO!"

But now it is back up and running, so it's a good night for me.

Don't know what I would do with you guys. lol

I don't know, but I was getting the same thing! I was in the middle of a PM and went to post the PM reply and that popped up! Whatever the problem was, why couldn't they do it to SA's site, no one is ever really on there, anyway!!

I remember that too, then I thought, oh no it's real!

No, this was beyond the mentality/ability of the threats before.

This is a world-wide hack from what seems to be a Turk group.

They are good though

No damage done

So, advanced warnings.

There will be delays on the forum as it is upgraded and backed up.

I may move the whole site to a different directory.

If you do ever find it moved, and it don't link to the new site, just check the home page, ModelCarsMag.com, or course, Facebook.

Makes me have to work on new site now.

Thats good to know, I too was really worried about it when I seen it because This is the only forum for me and if it went down for too long,.! well its just a scary thought. Its the only site on the net that is worth being a part of!

It's a shame that such idiots would hack a harmless model website.( and these people wonder why we don't like them )but kudos to the MCM staff for getting it back up so quickly

I was on here just before the attack hit, I left and went to another forum to check afew things out and then when I returns to the site here I got hit with a black page saying the forum here was hacked by some group. I didn't know how to email Gregg or anything so I was hoping some else on here did when they seen the forum was changed.

The folks that hacked this site, hack lots of sites....

"the islamic ghost team" has done this to many sites both big and small....

It was likely a random hit.....It could have been much worse. Those guys have been known to implant code, malware, and all sorts of trojans/viruses...

This was a mild attack. MCM was lucky.

The worst part about these people is thatthey are like dealing with government - when they stick it to you, you have absolutely no recourse. I mean, what are you going to do? Better yet, who are you going to do it to? The trouble with this cyber world that has descended upon us is it is anonymous and faceless.. people can hide behind a computer and tell you they are one thing but in reality they are something and someone totally different. The people who hack know that there will be no repurcussions - they are just sick individuals who get their jollies by disrupting the lives of other people who have never done them any wrong. It's impossible to police stuff like this.
