Darin Bastedo
I was thinking it would be fun yo do a build off of great kits that you rarely if ever see built up. Just off the top of my head this list comes to mind... AMT S/10 GMS Sonoma, Blazer $ Jimmy Kits AMT 97 Ford Explorer AMT 67 Impala SS Revell 67 Corvette Coupe and Roadster Monogram 1964 GTO Revell 1966 GTO Revell Shelby Series one Revell 1955 Chevy Convertible there are many more and I'm sure we all already have a few in our collections. Why don't we all pick one and build it by the end of the year?
Jared Roach
Oh yea I would join this, how bout a 2005 impala done as a drag car, lol or a 88 daytona, that I need to get done by may so this might be motivation. If this became a build off, I would be in for sure. I have a question though? Don't ya think you would atract more people to join by just building kits not seen often, dosen't matter how good or bad, just an odd kit? I'm just wondering, because most of the "forgotten" kits I have aren't GREAT Kits, but are still very buildable. oldscool
You know, this sounds like a good idea. But I don't have any of the kits you have listed in the stash.About the closest I can come to a forgotten kit is the AMT 69 Corvair or Revell 68/69 GTO Judge. Ooh,ooh, I do have an AMT 71 Mustang! oldscool Edited September 12, 2010 by oldscool
curt raitz
yeah, I've got a couple of Revell/Monogram 1967 Corvette Roadsters sittin' around just needin' an excuse to build'em thanx
Monte's Motors
Sounds like a great idea. Deciding on "what's a forgotten kit" would be the issue. I've got a '88 Dodge Charger, '69 Ford Talladega, '69 Dodge Charger 500, '66 AMC Marlin, '66 VW Karman Ghia, '56 Mercedes Gullwing. Would the group decide what's "forgotten"? I like group builds Deciding on what's "forgotten". I'll follow along and might end up joining in. I'm in the demo derby community build right now. I'd probably have time for another one. JamesW
The S-10/Sonoma and 67 Impala kits are definatly NOT forgotten in my book, but I'd be up for one of those.

charlie8575
I might be interested in joining in this, too. I have most of the above-mentioned kits. Charlie Larkin
ZTony8
I'll submit the AMT '66 Olds Cutlass or the Lindbergh '67 Olds 442 for consideration for this build.

Brett Barrow
Deciding on "what's a forgotten kit" would be the issue. I think what the TS is going for are 90's-early 2000's kits that were much anticipated and very well received when new, and contest tables were full of them, but now after a few years, you don't see them built nearly as often. I'll second the kits on the list I have: Revell 67 Vettes Revell 66 GTO and nominate a couple: AMT 57 Chrysler 300C Revell 64 Ford Thunderbolt

Junkman
All the 1/16th scale Gakken/Entex/Academy/Minicraft Ford A-bones. There are even hot rod versions out for quite a few years now.
Darin Bastedo
I'll submit the AMT '66 Olds Cutlass or the Lindbergh '67 Olds 442 for consideration for this build. Yeah, that is what I'm talking about. Those are good kits and I have yet to see one built.
Darin Bastedo
I motion to table this to committee to come up with a final list of things to choose from I have most of that original list and a couple of the added suggestions... feel free to suggest other kits for the list as this is just an informal thing I'm suggesting. I'd just like to see a build that gets some of these "I'll Build them someday" kits built.
Jantrix
I'd be in on this. My next build up will be a box-stock build up of the Mongram BADMAN 55 Chevy. I know 55 Chevy's are pretty common, but this kit isn't. If you guys feel this is rarely seen enough to fit the criteria, then I'm in. highway
I'm in, if I can get the other builds of the bench that are also due by the end of the year. any chance of a little longer build time?

Since I suggested it, I think I'll set the criteria, which will be very loose because i just want us to have some fun. Build any model that you think is a really good kit, that for the most part gets ignored. build it any way you want, and have fun. How's that for a rule? Greg Cullinan
Yes my kind of rules. I had to send a draft of the demo derby cb rules to my lawyer to look over!
Jantrix
Sounds good to me. However can we stretch the due date until say - April? Real life has a way of back burnering my hobbies.
