Well, the 1960 issues were Black. I've seen the Primer grey, Grey as in a real Grey, Red and white but that was I think in the late seventies when A M T was using re- cycled plastic . I bet Art Anderson knows the colors . Ed Shaver

Which '40 Ford? Don't forget the two-door sedan, and the sedan delivery. I've seen coupes molded in black, white, blue, and gray. I have sedan kits molded in black (original issue), maroon (Lesney/Matchbox issue), tan (AMT/Ertl), gray (Millennium), and have had them in white also. The original issue sedan delivery (derived from the coupe kit) was molded in yellow and white, with AMT/Ertl issues being molded in gray.

This one is an early-mid-'60s issue in relatively rare ivory-colored plastic. The box still used the same art as the original 1960 issue (with the blue flamed custom on the top). As I recall the earliest issues of the kit were black, then opaque gray (not like the milky gray of today's kits), then the ivory shown here, then light blue. All the colors may be found in the first-issue style box. The latter two colors were also used for Craftsman series kits (the '65 Nova SS is usually light blue, and I have a Craftsman '59 Ford in ivory).
