junkman1153 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 i have no idea how true this story is. a man was out of town and returned to discover his wife had the fruit trees that lined their driveway cut down, now he loved these trees and had worked hard pruning and spraying them.his wife said the leaves were staining the driveway. as he surveyed the situation. and saw the tree man had left his limb grinder. after a few minutes he figured it out and had it running ,went in the house grabbed a box of his wifes collector plates and threw them in the grinder she grabbed his rods and tackle box and threw them in,he grabbed a armful of her doll collection and in the grinder they went as he came out of the house with another load of dolls he saw her dumping a large box of his model cars into the grinder. the police said it took hours to recover enough of the wife for a positive identification
Terry Sumner Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Don't laugh...24 years ago we had a guy get rid of his wife in exactly that manner here in Connecticut!!! I didn't work on the case but it brought National attention! Richard Crafts ran his wife Helle Crafts through a woodchipper into a lake. We never found the body but we recovered a piece of a tooth among other small bits and Forensic Odontolgy was able to I.D. her from that fragment. Crafts was convicted and is in jail. Here's a link to a reasonably good story about the case. http://cmm.lefora.com/2009/10/01/helle-crafts-richard-craft-convicted-murderer/
junkman1153 Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 i remember hearing about that. i don't know the original source of this story or the truth of it a friend emailed it to me because of the model car reference
TurboKitty Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 my boyfriend and I were just talking about something like this after watching an old episode of Dirty Jobs (the one where they cut a tree down & the guy climbed 100ft up a tree and he got attacked by bees). Anyway that would be a horrible way to go

The teacher is friends with one of the forensics guys that did that and he said it was some little bone in the back of the head they used to identify her, not so much the tooth, although it helped. All I can say is that when your marriage or relationship gets that bad- MOVE ON! It'll be better for you both. Charlie Larkin
Joe Handley Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Somebody on another forum mentioned something about somebody who decided to kill themselves that way The handed the operator his wallet and phone then dove in head first
davyou5 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Still Junkman1153 asks a good question, Where do you draw the line?, it seems that the man in this case got his wife mad over something, so she decided to take revenge on his trees, well as you can see it carried onto something not so funny and not so civilized. I think that after destroying each others material goods, the line should have been drawn there, and they should have parted ways, or separated tempararily. Still this is a very sad story:( .
moparmagiclives Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Why do I feel like we should all be wearing big puffy coats and talking with Maine accents...
Harold Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Last time I checked, Fargo was in North Dakota, not Maine. 'Eh?
Draggon Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Note to self; remind wife to never shred the kits. Note to self: remind self to call divorce attorney
David G. Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Somebody on another forum mentioned something about somebody who decided to kill themselves that way The handed the operator his wallet and phone then dove in head first True. That happened in the Phoenix area sometime in late 1999 or early 2000. I worked at the funeral home that handled the services- direct cremation.
Modelmartin Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 "I assume that your friend there in the woodchipper?" Actually, the line was "..accomplice in the woodchipper?". LOVE that movie. I tell everyone it's a documentary. There are still a bunch of people around who still talk like that.
