Started this for the truck community build, its a 53 F100, built the way I would like to have one built. On to the pictures!!

Paint on the cab, this is going to be really hard to match the color, spray too much and its dark, don't spray enough and its too light.

Little mock up

That truck is going to look great!;) That's one of my favorite colors. Are you keeping the 5.0 engine or going with something bigger?

All righty now Got the hood painted, and the cab cleared. Got the chrome stripped and those painted flat black. Engine is 99% done just got to find my penvise, not sure where it is. The bed got way too much paint on it and it started running, so it is in the pond. On to the pictures!!

I know not to blame the camera but I am going to anyway. The batteries were dying.

Ok, if I keep going this will be 97% done. But I am tired and my body hurts from sitting on the ground. Anyway, I have to wait on the bed to get to where I can paint it again then I can button this one up as my first build of 2010. :)

Thats how she sits now so until the bed is stripped, thats as far as I go.

Looking good Clay! Excellent choice of color- I love that orange! I just picked this kit up a few weeks ago and have a two toned paint job in mind and that orange is one of the colors I'm going to use so it's nice to see that it looks so good on the 55. I love the mid 50's Ford truck and the 55 is probably my fav. Keep up the good work!

Coming along great:). You don't need no stinking drill bit to do plug wires in the heads, just do it like we did in the old days and heat up a needle and stick it through the plastic. A little clean up with the tip of a #11 blade and badaboom.

Michaels had that kit and I could have got 50% off - bought the Black Widow '57 Chevy instead. I should ahve gone for the Effie. I love the color and what you're doing to it, Clay.

Thanks everyone, I hope to have this one wrapped up over the weekend. I have learned what I should look for next time I do something like this again.

I just picked up the same kit last Friday, haven’t opened it and, well, after seeing yours I may not. B) Like everyone else, I’m drooling over your color choice! Looks good, I’ll be following the build!

There is really nothing wrong with this kit. I like the fact it doesn't come with the metal axels like most of the other 50s era fords do. If you don't want it I will take it B)

Ha!I'll keep that in mind! Most likely I'll make a rust bucket out of it. ;)
