Has anyone else been watching the new show on HDTheater ??? It's called American Icon-- The Hot Rod, if you want to see some great vintage footage and hear the stories of the way things were you have got to see this show. This has to be the best thing on TV !!!!!

Outstanding show - Foose is even tolerable. If they compiled all the episodes into one DVD, I'd definitely be in line to buy it.

A couple weeks ago, I watched 2 episodes. I thought it was a 2 part deal. Are there new episodes each week?

I thought it was great! Some neat stuff. And, the less foose the better.

Thanks. Later

Yeah, according to their website there are at least 6 episodes listed for November, not shure how many total. And it is good that somebody got through to Foose that this show isn't about him (couldn't have been easy, he thinks everything is about him).

It's Tuesday and I'm watching American Icon - The Hot Rod. This show gets better every week. If you haven't seen it yet, you owe it to yourself. You will get hooked. I can't wait until these shows are on DVD.

The show is really good, so is overhaulin', can't understand why people here don't like Chip Foose, he does some very interesting work and makes total strangers happy while at the same time helping them realize their dreams. And that is bad because........? I have a friend who met him, says he was very approachable, kind and humble, not a hollywood type of person at all.

So, are his overhauls and acts of kindness really THAT upsetting to people here? Makes me scratch my head in wonderment, given the way our hobby, and lately, the car industry is changing, ANYTHING that puts cool cars out there just has to be a good thing, right?

I haven't seen the program, but i enjoyed "OverHaulin" and he (Foose) seemed like ALOT more approchable and easier going than Boyd EVER was. I wouldn't even watch that show after they showed what kinda guy he was. Like my momma says, if you can't say nothing nice, DON'T say anything.I'd never met him either, but don't think I'd want too. dry.gif:unsure:

Big Mike- the only thing about Foose that I could understand people being upset about would be the commercialization of his name. Seems like "Foose" is plastered on a ton of things, much like Jesse James and his West Coast Choppers logos were.

I like what Foose builds, I just think sometimes these guys get pushed into signing endorsement contracts or their name getting used to the point of it being ridiculous. Saw it happen with Boyd Coddington, probably will happen with others! It is the pursuit of the almighty dollar and 15 minutes of fame.

Ooops- went off topic for a moment, if the show will be on DVD I would check it out as I do not have HD Theater or any HD channels!

The show is great, though Foose is a better car builder than he is a cue card reader...

As for Foose, I'd love to meet him. Especially when he overhauls one of my cars but any other time as well. He seems like a real down-to-earth guy but maybe that's just an image he portrays on TV.

I also share the aforementioned opinion on Boyd. I love his cars but can't stand that type of manager. Every show, everyone had to work nights and weekends to meet deadlines that Boyd set. Funny thing was, you'd see a guy leave American Hotrod and show up on Overhaulin...

I got the ol' DVR set to record those icon shows, that's for sure...

I don't own a TV anymore, if I watch anything it is on my PC, All in one Entertainment, and few to no commercials B) . But It does sound like something good is coming out to TV for once.
