Chuck Most Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Take a cheap-o beater from the classifieds, paint it with Rustoleum and a roller, and use all the money you didn't spend on buying a 'desirable' car for some wheels and an air suspension and slum it up in style! Just a quick, simple 'boredom killer' curbside build- I bought this kit yesterday after work, and had it done before midnight.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 LOL! I love the effect. You need to display a little scratch-build paint roller and bucked of paint for this one, buddy. The paint effect looks thick, just as if you had "rolled" it on.
whale392 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 That's actually pretty pimpin'! I would drive it.......what wheels are those by the way?
Chuck Most Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 That's actually pretty pimpin'! I would drive it.......what wheels are those by the way? Not sure- Revell '55 Chevy hardtop, I think.
whale392 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Thanks Chuck, I will have to see about getting a set for one of my future (never finished) builds.
mikemodeler Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I like the idea of cranking a kit out like this! No polishing, fancy bodywork or engine detailing. I can imagine some kid inheriting a car like this from a grandparent and doing just what you did- wheels and airbags. Only thing missing is the speakerbox in the backseat.
davyou5 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I am not into lowriders, but this is one sweet looking Monaco you have there. I like the Green paint too. .
voljeepx Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 You have taken a Monaco and made it cool! Good work!
Danno Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Kewl. ALMOST there; you just need some dingleberries around all the windows!
ian ashton Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 This is the coolest build I've seen in a long time, love it!
Chuck Most Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 Looks cool What's the paint color?? Rustoleum spray can Apple Green if I recall.
