was messing around with this knife i bought but never used and figured its gotta be good for something so when i decided to do the fat whites on the roadster i found that this knife was really good for cutting circles.

you can find them in drafting stores or the knife aisle in hobby lobby

Great tip for doing wide whites. I'd like to do some on some of my street rod projects. Is that the Xacto knife where the blade rotates?

#9RX this one is the retractable

Did you do any thing special to the tires surface like sand it down or use alcohol to clean it? When you mixed your paint did you add something to the flat white or thin it some? Thanks in advance.

Any acrylic will; I've used both Tamiya and Floquil with good results.

Thanks. This works great. I had a problem cutting into the plastic template so I found an aluminum triangle/circle template - hopefully that will last longer.

This is GREAT - thanks so much for sharing this with everyone!

My two cents: I have a Fiskars swivel knife, similar to X-Acto's Swivel Craft Knife, and it works great with circle templates - makes quick work of those problematic cuts too. It works just great with this technique for wide whites.
