Lownslow
was messing around with this knife i bought but never used and figured its gotta be good for something so when i decided to do the fat whites on the roadster i found that this knife was really good for cutting circles. you can find them in drafting stores or the knife aisle in hobby lobby you need all this take the template and line it up to the size you think will look the best lay some tape down and cut the circle the blade follows the edge perfectly without catching lay the large piece of tape over the tire like this mix up your paint airbrush your tire and youre done before after if you wanna make a white wall cut another circle a size down and lay it between the big circle. slapshot
Did you do any thing special to the tires surface like sand it down or use alcohol to clean it? When you mixed your paint did you add something to the flat white or thin it some? Thanks in advance.

Erik Smith
Thanks. This works great. I had a problem cutting into the plastic template so I found an aluminum triangle/circle template - hopefully that will last longer.
chev12olet
Great tip. This will most definitely help out a lot. Back to Michaels tomorrow. Edited April 21, 2011 by chev12olet
larrygre
This is GREAT - thanks so much for sharing this with everyone! My two cents: I have a Fiskars swivel knife, similar to X-Acto's Swivel Craft Knife, and it works great with circle templates - makes quick work of those problematic cuts too. It works just great with this technique for wide whites. Edited February 26, 2011 by larrygre
