Meh. While I'm not 100 percent certain, I do feel reasonably confident I can find something else to work on in the meantime!

Second that. If I didn't buy another kit starting...NOW...I would be set for about 100 years at my current pace. So, take your time Revell (although I will buy one when they come out). Come to think of it, will there be a need to stash kits in 100 years?

Will we be here in a 100 years?;) So take your time Revell ? They already have. It's not about what we already have. It's about anticipation. It's about looking forward to something new, something we don't already have, something that's been promised.

I want to bash one of these with the woody kit already!

(and by 'one of these' I don't mean the Revell '48 Coupe. I mean I want to bash the woody with a Ken Snyder LP.)

I'm curious as to weither I can splice a top from a I M C 46-8 Ford to this one .......... Chopped tops aren't appealing to me . Ed Shaver

Someone told me years ago (I wish I remembered who) that there were two coupe roofs on this Ford body, I think it had to do with the back seat or lack of one. Anyway, he assured me that the IMC roof was correct for one but not both of them. Wish I remembered more.

I've seen pictures of '46-48 Ford 2drs with 2 different door lengths..maybe a version w/ a backseat and a business coupe w/o a backseat. The IMC/Testors kit is the long door, I think. I have an unbuilt Testors coupe, thought about kitbashing it w/ a Revell '48 convertible..the multipiece body is 'interesting'..

i tried three different times to build an IMC 46-48 coupe... i think i still have some of the pieces in my stash. i KNOW i have the front seat from one in a Stone/Woods/Cook Willys i modified.

i've been to the LHS several times in the last few months and seen nothing of note except the sprint cars..... that, and rapidly rising prices.

i will be glad to see pics of "what's in the box" when this kit arrives.

I might grab one of these to put one of Jerry's '46-'48 Tudors on (fastback)

As it looks like it might come with a stock(ish) suspension, or can be done with little/no trouble.

That Olds grille.....I seriously need to grab another Galaxie Chevy Aerosedan and make an Olds 66 with it.

I tried getting the Testors roof to work on the Revell 'vert...I couldn't get it to line up the way I wanted & gave up!

Bought Perry's deluxe coupe instead:

Interesting note here. In the back of the latest issue of The Rodders Journal there is a picture of two Chopped '42 Fords with grill openings very similar to what we've seen in earlier press releases on the Revell '48. One car is an original Barris custom ,back when he built real customs, not wacky TV cars, and a clone of the Anne De Valle version.I bring this up because of all the clamoring for a stock version. It seems to me a custom would be much more interesting.:)

The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing, I personaly would have rather had a stock build option. Is it really a custom it you built it out of the box?

Who knows, maybe Revell will eventually do a stock-bodied 2dr based on the convertible tooling. I have little interest in customs, esp. chop tops...

I guess we'll find out when the kit hits the shelves. Maybe only the body and interior will be customized, with the engine, frame and suspension remmaining stock, possibly with lowered suspension options?

How was the Revell '49 Mercury done? Is the suspension, frame and engine stock or very close to stock, or are those parts totally customized, too?

I don't think there is much of anything stock on the '49 Merc..it's a pure custom.
