Lyle Willits Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Resin body from Time Machine Resin. Donor kit is the AMT Wagonrod. very nice body - good quality - almost no cleanup required. Oddly, there were no trunk lines scribed, so I scribed them myself. I don't like the headlights buried low in the fenders in the Wagonrod, so I ground and sanded them away and sunk in '39 headlight buckets from a Monogram kit. Modified the Wagonrod hood and grafted in the louvers. Made possable steering. Using a big block Chevy with Bob Dudek valve covers.
crazyjim Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 That's a great looking build so far, Lyle. Did the interior panels come with it? Is it me or the pic - the dashboard looks very narrow but detailed real good.

The modified front and rear seats are from a later release of the AMT '57 Ford.
crazyjim Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I'm going to have to get me one of Wagon Rod kits one of these days. Keep building, Lyle. I like what you're doing with this one.
parki Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I'm liking this one a lot Lyle I've gotta get back on to my Wagon Rod build . I really like the rims and engine choice. Any ideas on colour yet?
Danno Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Kewl! I like the headlamps at a higher altitude, too.
greymack Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Hi there I'm just curious but wasn't a chevy humpback built different? I seen one that the roof was a foot taller in a section or is that another make?
Jantrix Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Lyle, as I'm positive you didn't use the dual leaf stock front suspension, I'd really like to see what you did with it. Great work.

Guest Markus355 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 great looking build! my family has a real 39 4 door humpback chevy
catpack68 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 looking good so far lyle.i can't wait to see it finished.
Nate Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Looking good as usual, Lyle. FYI to those unfamiliar with the Wagonrod kit, it has a custom hot rod chassis and suspension with air ride suspension at all 4 corners, as well as air compressor. I bought a few of these just for those parts. Edited January 13, 2011 by Nate
bang bang Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I know scribing truck lines sounds simple but how did you keep the lines so perfectly straight And the corners so precise? Looks awesome.
MikeMc Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Very neat...love the concept and execution....don't care for the slanted B post...makes the rear window soooooolong....
Peter Lombardo Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 very nice start....I love the color combo you have in mind for this....this will look great when done.
