samdiego Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) sorry about the title. This is obviously the Hot Rod version of the Beverly Hillbilly's Olds as done by George Barris for one episode of the show. Actually it's as done by me because I took some liberties. The little reference I could find showed several differences between the 1:1 and the kit parts, so I improvised to suit me.I just didn't like the yellow seat inserts and I removed the woodgrain from the outside of the bed. The bed floor was planked with African Cherry veneer. I am keeping an eye out for an interior, too. My bio says I shoot for a seven out of ten on the "Would I let you see it" scale. Well, I'll put this one as a five. I had several problems, some self induced. but I'm about ready to move on to the next victim. I came up with this shifter while the BH build was ongoing and decided the roadster was the right place for it. The eagle is sculpy sculpted with an exacto and baked with brief passes with a lighter Only here can flaming jugs be a good thing. Carefully masked, sprayed and pinstriped, oh wait, this is a rad shell flame decal from Revell's '32 The trash was thrown in just to round out the title. it's for an HO diorama. cruz Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 You do know that you will get a million views with a title to a thread like that right? You got my attention!
samdiego Posted January 14, 2011 Author Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) Good grief, even with granny used in the description? That was the episode title Edited January 14, 2011 by samdiego
Modellpularn Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 You do know that you will get a million views with a title to a thread like that right? You got my attention! Mine too! It looks good, and you did a good job on the hot jugs..... Ohhh, sorry, my deranged mind slipped a little there. "Go granny go" from the song "Little old lady from Pasadena", might fit the description....
sjordan2 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Good grief, even with granny used in the description? That was the episode title Well, Grannie kind of goes along with the old movie title, "Mother, Jugs and Speed." We know which part Raquel Welch played.
evilone Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Where did you get the moonshine jugs at? build is looking good bro
samdiego Posted January 15, 2011 Author Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) Thanks. It's all in the BH kit but the parts for the custom version weren't mentioned in the box art for the latest release from a few years ago. The shifter is the only addition. either really cool or butt ugly, I'm wafflin' Edited January 16, 2011 by samdiego

Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Nice, I like the build and the imagination it exemplifies!
Draggon Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 This must be the nicest duild up of this kit Ive seen. Looks great so far! As far as cool/ugly goes, I think it was hideous when it first came out, but its been growing on me. I'm sorta leaning to cool, now.
