Pete J. Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Just one caution to all of you. Be careful posting photos taken from cell phones on the web. I saw a news segment several months ago about bad guys being able to find the location of cell phone photos. Apparently the GPS location is stored as part of the data of the photo. Now, not that we would have a thief on this or any other site and who would want to steal a bunch of plastic, but I see a number of photos that show really nice tools in a work shop that are theft targets. Use a digital camera and you don't get the same problem. I had my shop broken into years ago and some of my models, RC stuff and tools stolen. It wasn't the dollar amount that bothered me because the insurance covered that. It was that someone got some of the tools I had from my father and some of my prize winning models taken. Stuff you just can't replace.
Daddyfink Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Good advice, Pete. Now,where did I put that old digital camera?
dmk Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I love looking through the pictures of some of these caches and picking out the kits that go for stupid money on Ebay.

disabled modeler Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 No worries here with a stash....have cameras to protect house and grounds since we moved here 14 years ago. Shame they did not catch the tornado we had years ago but still good advise.
vettecote Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) This is what's behind me while at my work bench. I have more in storage waiting for a bigger room...Joe http://images112.fotki.com/v1119/photos/3/713993/10194014/006-vi.jpg Edited October 10, 2013 by Interceptor001
Tom Geiger Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I've come to the conclusion that we all have the same kits! Note that the size of your stash isn't important as long as you have the space and your family bills are all paid before you indulge!

niteowl7710 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Chances are if you're inside a solid structure your GPS isn't going to activate on your cell phone (or your digital camera - mine has a GPS built in) because it can't contact the satellite system from within your house. Easiest way to check would be run your phone GPS Map program from your hobby room and see if can find your location.
Pete J. Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Thats when the guard dog and the bretta come into play ;-) My beagle, who raises a fuss when anyone comes to the door, slept through the whole thing. I have a .45, .38 and several large caliber shotguns and rifles. They don't do _____ if you aren't awake to man them. Also had the entire house alarmed except for the garage.
cobraman Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Sorry if I showed these before, I can't recall. Given my screen name you might think I collect Cobra's. You would be right. This is my collection of unbuilt models only. My Cobra collection numbers well over 600 in all sizes and materials.
Chillyb1 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 My new model kit warehouse! Complete with Holy Grail, too.
Gothic Kustomz Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Heres my stash, oh wait ya mean MODEL STASH, oops.
o-man Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Just put in spare office/bedroom upstairs. Couldn't fit anymore in hall closet. About 110 cars and trucks.
