I am seriously considering tossing this darn Lap-Top out the window.

Saturday and Sunday are the only two days I stand a chance of working on my models.

I get up around 6:30 A.M. to insure more time building models.

Then I get on this darn thing and check into MCM Forum, then I check Multiply and then Facebook.

Time spent modeling this month= 0

Darn Computer

It is tough...I find myself using my laptop whenever I'm watching TV, or surfing on my phone whenever I'm not near the laptop. It doesn't help that I spend 40 hrs a week using my laptop in my corporate life...just so used to being online all the time.

What Mark said is close to what I do too. I do a lot of "drive buy" viewing in between other things I'm doing. I very seldom spend more than half an hour continuous on the computer. I have 3 main model car sights I visit, I love them all and visit them all everyday. I find I spend more time viewing when I'm in a building "funk" which often gets me inspired to build. The 2 compliment each other.

What ELSE are we supposed to do while glue and paint are drying????

That's the reason I bought a laptop JUST for the model desk, not to mention when I'm not a the desk, I'm on my regular computer!!:lol::lol:

I'd bring my laptop down to the shop, but I'd have to build am extension to house it but then I NEVER get anything done!

Its all a habit.

I check out my main sites and then its off while I work on my models.

I've been working on a Pete all day then I came here.

If I start out on here I loose my model time also.

My wife tells me that I can use this thing for more

than model related stuff.

Thats when I cut it off and start back building

She just shakes her head and walks off.Works out pretty good that way :lol::lol:

I'll throw my hat into the ring as well here.

Between Battlefield II, guitar, beer and work I am working less on my projects than ever.

BUT, I now have a cure.

It's called AMT 1960 Ford Starliner and I plan to see it through to the end over this coming month.

Yep, it's NOT a drag car and I will finish it by the end of February.

There, I threw the gauntlet down on my own self.

[Getting to work].

You should stay off "those" web sites. That's where malware comes from  .

Malware isn't virus'. You haven't noticed even the largest companies in the world put malware on your computer?

Lol! No, I am 100% legit! I was Google Image searching "Rolex 24"; several pages in, and "ZAP".

Next time, I'm buying a Mac.

As Dan said, the key is self control. I've gotten to where I might spend five-ten minutes a week on Facebook on average. Now I'm on here a lot, but at least 50% of my time I'm shown as on here, I'm often also going back & forth between here & the workdesk, or I have multiple pages open for research or looking up stuff. I tend to keep this page open all the time I'm online, whether I'm actually on this site or not at the time. It's all a matter of time management & multitasking. ;)

Mark, You're right, it's a matter of TIME MANAGEMENT. I can blame the computer, the TV, the club meetings, yard work, or whatever, but it all boils down to Poor Time Management on MY part. If I really wanted to finish the '70 Challenger or whatever I'm working on I would make time to do so instead of making excuses.
