charlie8575 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Nice Bruce. Where did you source the rest of the parts from? Charlie Larkin
redknight Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I owned a 1974 and a 1977 Chevelle, so this bodystyle has a special meaning for me. I've been sitting on the resin Laguna body (NASCAR version) for nearly 20 years. I just never found the rest of the pieces to put it together as a street car. Thanks for posting an actual build.
RodneyBad Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Mmmmmm, A Stock car into a stock car? Looks Awesome. Incredible work.
jeff ewaskey Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Excellent job converting the race car into the street version. Looks really good. Real shame the 1:1 version dosent get the recognition that it should.
george 53 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Bruce, i did this awhile back also, AFTER i saw an article in that other mag about fixing the wheelwells. It came out pretty nice too. I used the interior of the JoHan 75? Cutlass, and the Dash out of the 76 Monte Carlo. The Chassis came from an old MPC GTO. Kinda a mishmash of parts but it did come out as nice as yours! GREAT job on a very rare car!!!! ;)
Olskoolrodder Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Oh Bruce...she's a thing of BEAUTY!!!
Adam deCoste Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 thats really cool!!!!!!! i would also like to know where you got the chassie interior ect, because im going to be making a replica of my dads 73 chevelle.
Space Cowboy Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Nice Bruce. Where did you source the rest of the parts from? Charlie Larkin Hi Charlie the interior is from a Monte Carlo and the chassis is from a 72 Chevelle..

Hey Adam the interior is from a newer Monte Carlo I think 77-78 and the chassis is from a 72 Chevelle...
torinobradley Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I've wanted to do something like this but my car was the Laguna Cruiser (the El Camino Laguna). Talk about a lot of work... I know the El Caminos had Monte Carlo dashboards but wasn't aware the Laguna had them as well. Yours came out very well and is quite inspirational! Way to go!
Len Carsner Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Very nice. I tried doing one of these years ago, have always wanted to do one the "right way". Seeing this might jump start a new project for me. I bought a 1976 Laguna S3 in May of '76, my first ever new car. I still own it although it sits untouched for the last fifteen years awaiting both time and funds to do a proper restoration. SOmeday.....
montelsc Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Changed this one from the stock car.. now this couldnt look any better REALLY NICE!!!!!!!
Plasticfanatic Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Very, very nice, like the color to. Great work.
