Chuck Most Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 A shame this one's no longer in production, but I still love it! The legendary '61 Plymouth... the only car designed to look like it dead-centered a pole on its way off the assemlby line! Casting quality is fantastic, chrome is nice, and there's way less flash and than the Jo-Han kit upon which its based, and no mold separation lines!
caine440 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Great looking kit. I like the way they did the chassis so you can add a motor.
Danno Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Tom Coolidge's PromoLite 2000 castings are nothing short of spectacular!!!
dimaxion Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Tom Coolidge's PromoLite 2000 castings are nothing short of spectacular!!! The '61 Plymouths were described by the wags as the "Praying Mantis Face" . It looks to be an excellent casting . Thanx ..
Chuck Most Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 Or "The Bug That Ate Tokyo"! I hear the Canadian Dodges wore a similar grin up front. Now mine's set up on some Firestone wide ovals and AMT Torq Thrusts... yeah, I'm liking where this is going.
mr moto Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Modelhaus also sells a '61 Fury resin kit. I haven't seen it but I have to think that the quality would be excellent.
MrObsessive Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Of the total '61 lineup from the Big Three, that's got to be the strangest one of all! In a cool kinda way though looking back! Anyone ever notice the tiny dorsal fin right down the middle of the trunk lid on Fury's??
Foxer Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 ... the only car designed to look like it dead-centered a pole on its way off the assemlby line! I always loved that car just for it's uniqueness.
Chuck Most Posted May 30, 2011 Author Posted May 30, 2011 Anyone ever notice the tiny dorsal fin right down the middle of the trunk lid on Fury's?? Tiny? TINY???? The thing's gigantic! Well, as far as trunk-mounted dorsal fins go! It's quite a prominent part of the design, for sure. And one of my favorite styling bits on the car. http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/customs-1/61-plymouth-fury-/zz-002.html
