Guest Johnny Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Bet Dannos' mom made him leave his door open so he didn't make mischief!
Jon Cole Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 You can’t do this, and I hate those who say that. We don’t need that, and you should just go. He doesn’t like that, and you should just leave. I don’t like cryptic, it’s my pet peeve. You just want attention, I know others agree And besides blah blah blah. And if you blah blah yap yap, Why don’t blah blah blah blah. So yappity yappity yappity yap. And blah blah blah your trap. Meantime, I’ll go warm up the waaambulance.
Jordan White Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 (edited) anyone who posts cryptic titles like "it's sad".."anyone interested" question" and so forth that forces me to open the thread to see what it's about, needs to go... IMHO. that's a major pet-peeve on any forum for me.. I'm sure I'm not alone if you can't indicate in the title what the topic is about ,, than your obviously dying for people to open it and need attention in general. I agree with that, except the one nice thing about this forum is there is a thread preview function. If you hover your mouse over the title, a little icon will appear on the right, next to where it says the thread poster. Click on it and it will show part of what the first post says. peter31a Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Hey! Thanks Jordan! I always wondered why that little red x kept floating around on each thread line. You learn something new every day.
Harry P. Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 See y'all later! You know where you can find me. Great song...
Agent G Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Great song... They had great music from that era................... G
Harry P. Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 They had great music from that era................... G Oh yeah!
Eric Stone Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 They had great music from that era................... G And now we have great music from that era, this era, and any eras in between. Problem is, with as much great music we've accumulated over time, we've been cursed with several times as much terrible music.
Guest Johnny Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Agree with you 100% on that one Ken! That is a Masterpiece!
Harry P. Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Well, this topic has certainly taken a few odd twists and turns! But with all this Beach Boys talk, I had to go to youtube... I Can Hear Music... Help Me Rhonda... Sloop John B... Do It Again... man, those guys were good!
59 Impala Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 My friend... there is more to life than cars... Yeah, trucks, boats and planes. Dan

Harry P. Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 "Sloop John B" is my fave Beach Boys song, followed closely by "God Only Knows." It's hard to pick a favorite, they had so many great songs.
Custom Hearse Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Uh oh, now we're only a Gremlin picture away from this getting locked..
Harry P. Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 BTW, if you don't know the origin story of "Sloop John B," it's quite interesting. It began as a West Indies folk song. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Sloop_John_B I never knew that! Interesting...
Danno Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 The genius of Brian Wilson will outlive us all. He's Paul McCartney's favorite composer, and George Martin is a huge fan, too. When the Beatles heard Pet Sounds it knocked them out and spurred a spirited rivalry ... Lenon and McCartney took the Beatles to a whole new level, largely due to the inspiration of Pet Sounds. If you get a chance, check out a documentary bio called "Beautiful Dreamer." It's absolutely amazing! I'm a lifelong Beach Boys fan; our children and grandchildren are, too!
Boreham Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Listen to the word's it'll make sence. don't waste your time on some people.. take abreak from the Forum for a month or 2.. Total Break. Greg Myers Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 "Sloop John B" is my fave Beach Boys song, followed closely by "God Only Knows." Not surprisingly, both are from "Pet Sounds." BTW, if you don't know the origin story of "Sloop John B," it's quite interesting. It began as a West Indies folk song. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Sloop_John_B Dont' forget the Kingsmen
