And here is were im at now.... im not 100% with the way its turned out i may change it up a lill... please enjoy an more to come ... getting close for some paint.. Later days ... Davin
Belair2k Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Nice work you're doing there Davin. I really like the way the door hinges came out, never having done that myself. Also you've taken on a lot of work with the PE parts but I'm sure the results will make it worthwhile. Somebody suggested that the plastic springs would be better (back there a few pages...)If REAL springs were 25 times (1/25 scale model)the size of the kit parts I figure the stack of springs for the rear end would be about 4 to 5 inches thick. PE is the winner in this case. Keep it going...
Nate Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Nice looking cage. I would suggest that the bar the crosses the door connect to the floor at the same location as the A pillar post, or better yet, connect to the A pillar post. It would be better from a structural standpoint. Maybe the race car specialists could back me up or correct me.
2000-cvpi Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Nice looking build, the added details are really looking great. I will follow the build from now on. Keep up the good work.

Later Days...Davin Hey Davin, about the roll cage or roll bar, which ever you like to call it. If you want to know how to build them, PM me on here as I know a good thread on another site that shows a roll bar in the same kind of style design some what just like your roll bar set up is. The other thread I am talking about is a huge and also shows close up shots of the making of the roll cage as well and mounting places as well. Edited May 18, 2011 by m0parman
mopar01lee Posted May 19, 2011 Author Posted May 19, 2011 Ok i got the body shell painted . Later Days..Davin
highway Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 That looks good Davin! At least in my opninion, I think you hit the color dead on. Is the engine paint that glossy without any clear? It has a very nice shine to it.

Wagoneer81 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Devin, thanks for the detailed description of how you made the door hinges. That's a pretty neat design and I'm going to use it the next time I need door hinges. I'm not really a Mopar Man but I have always loved that shade of Orange! The paint looks slick and I look forward to seeing this one finished!

Drake69 Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) I'm going to be watching this topic like a hawk. I have three different Charger kits and am planning on a similar build, but it probably won't have as much of the PE detail as this one. It WILL start with the '68 body with the MPC and Revell '69 kits as needed to flesh it out, so I'll be leaning heavily on this one. Haven't read all the way through the thread yet, are you using Keith Marks decals for this one? Edited May 24, 2011 by Drake69
