Mooneyzs Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Rom... you are off to a great start buddy!! oh man you have me waiting to see what you have in store next. Also you can't beat the inner coat clear, it is the only way to do builds with multi colors. I buy a few of my House of Kolor paints by the quarts and that's one of them. I have a place that I mail order from and they are cheaper than anywhere I have seen. I look forward to the next step in this painting process. alright man i am off to do a little work on my funny car
futurattraction Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Your jackstands are killer and I can tell the paint is going to be just as deadly!

eviltwincustoms Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Thanks friends this is gonna be fun , Im nolonger sticking to the plan I had I think Im gonna try a few differant things with this paint. I'll have another update on the paint today. In the mean time heres a couple pics of the ProJacks under the car. I'll be paint these todat too with Alclad Chrome. Watch out ROM!!!! That Solder Cobra Snake is coiled and ready to strike! Or are you playing your magical flute?
Romell R Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 Yeah Bart I was on the magic flute that time ...LOL! thanks for your compliment Richard and you wont have to wait much longer as I got color on the body today now starts the process of masking and detailing. Heres where I am now First I sprayed a pretty HOK Orental Blue I did the intire nose clip and part of the doors Then went on a HOK Passion Pearl Then I shot a HOK Sunset Pearl .....
Romell R Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 ok once the base colors are laid down I covered that with HOK Intercoat Clear because I'll be masking and spraying on top of these base colors. The intercoat clear isnt a glossy clear its almost invisable it's just to provide a protection for the paint that already laid down. Cya on the next update......
eviltwincustoms Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Interesting color choice, I am excited to see what artistic flavor you end up kissing this body with.
crazyjim Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I'm liking the SHINY :) already, Rom. Keep going, man.
Mooneyzs Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Rom... Everything is looking killer but. Nice work on the paint and I am sure you have more plans for the paint . I love the pic with the car up on the jack stands... Looks Awesome!!
John Teresi Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Romell.....looks like another one of your AWESOME paint jobs in the works.
Romell R Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 Thanks fellas for the AWESOME!!! compliments LOL! Well I worked on the front end of the car for a few hours tonight , its mostly spray then wait till the paint flashes then untape then retape , then spray then wait 15 mins for the paint to flash gets crazy but i love this man. anyway heres what I have .....enjoy! I wanted to make the paint look like its being ripped away , so to do that I had to make a 3 part mask and apply it to the new paint the mask incorparates the rip , the fold and then theres a negative that I use to cover the rip when Im ready to paint the fold over. once everything was masked up I made a 50/50 mix of HOK Galaxy Grey and Orian Silver because I wanted the color just a tad darker than the original silver I based the body with. you cant really tell in this picture but it looks really nice in the sun. I cut out a bunch of square tape blocks so I can make my next effect .................... I removed a couple of the square patches and mixed some Galaxy Gray its a lil darker than the mixture I made earlier.... Heres what all the masking and painting was all about as you can see I started removing the masking for the folds which are to be painted white but im not done yet..... Be right back..........
Romell R Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 Ok so heres where were at again..... Now i have to use the negative of the mask i made earlier to cover the ripped area of the new graphic this is so I dont get paint on the folds that im about to paint white. These are the folds after the white has been painted , i still have to paint the shadowing on and a few highlights but this is almost done..... Cya tomarrow.....
stump Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 OMG ! TOMORROW......NO ! We need more NOW Rom. MAN, this is going to be SWEET.......I'm getting a really good feel for this already Romell.
