Dragracer Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I have to agree with Tyrone, packed, deployed would cover up too much detail & that great paint job.
Mister Twister Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 You guys know me....I like them deployed (most of the time) even if it covers up other detail. Its just detail upon detail the way I see it. But, its ultimately up to you Rom.
Romell R Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 Thanks fellas for your input i'll defanitly take it all into consideration. Heres the jacket with a little color on it (even added a zipper) I hope you enjoy. one for scale.... This is where it will sit on display.... Cya on the next one.
Mister Twister Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 It turned out great and the vibrant colors go along with the paint scheme on the car. Perfect wrinkles and folds....Great job!

Romell R Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Thanks fellas for your input on the chutes I have decided to have them deployed , I will make sure that they are arranged in a way as not to subtract from the detail and paint of the car. I feel this is another chance to add more detail to the build. so stay tunned as I venture into this next sub-project.
gasser59 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 This build of yours Rom is setting new standards and the only problem I see with that is what will you build after this that's better? I don't know if that can be done. I can't wait to see this in person next month.
Romell R Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 This build of yours Rom is setting new standards and the only problem I see with that is what will you build after this that's better? I don't know if that can be done. I can't wait to see this in person next month. You know i tell myself that after every build, but they seem to get better everytime. I only hope the next build turns out better than this one. Thanks for your compliment Bro and I'll see you in AZ.
Romell R Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Ok i got a couple updates for ya tonight. First I thought id show ya the progress on the deployed chutes, then I'll treat ya to some mouth watering candy! I just love candy. with the chute I started out by cutting out two patterns out of facial tissue like this .....both have mulitple layers then each was dipped into water and elmers glue was spread over them. Later the Elmers will dry and from a sort of plastic that will make it easy to paint. once the glue was spead out I picked up the pattern from the center to kinda fold them a bit and hung them on the rear of the body to dry for a couple hours. I used plastic so that they wont stick to the car and I will be able to remove the chute later if I need to. When these dry I will paint and rig them.... note they have been placed so as not to cover any detail.... Be right back with some candy..........
Romell R Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Ok this is not an illusion , this is not wet paint , this is CANDY BABY!!!! heres a few in reg house light..... All that left to do is polish and wax and the paint is a done deal I hope you enjoyed.........
Prostreet Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Paint looks amazing Rom, what kind of clear is that?
Dragracer Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 The car is just bee-u-ti-ful Rom, the paint IS CANDY!, the chutes (& placement) are also excellent!
futurattraction Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Super paint, Rom. I love it! The whole project is just stunning...
