ra7c7er Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 (edited) Not exactly a plastic model but it is SMP. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Scale-Model-SMP-1959-Chevy-Impala-1-25-scale-/190507362967?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c5b1faa97 Their is no reserve set makes me want to offer 10 bucks just to ruin his 1,000,000 dollar buy it now. This why people hate ebay. And then their is this. http://cgi.ebay.com/1979-Subaru-Brat-AMT-1-25-scale-kit-Lesney-2709-nice-/180677211742?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1133765e Really? you want me to pay your morgage? niteowl7710 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 (edited) People hate eBay because some of the sellers suffer from hallucinations? I wouldn't give him $1 for it...the box seems to be more strips of cardboard, and what happened to the roof? It looks like it set out in the sun too long. On the second one I'll give him the $5.00 the price tag on the top says... The first one I have no interest in at ANY price, but the second one I kinda like, since I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Brat/El Camino/Ranchero types. Heck, I even liked the Omni somethingerother that Chrysler made in the early 80s as competition to the Brat. Now would I be "nice" and spend $5000 on that kit like that idiot is hoping so HE can buy HIM a house? NO!! I might help him out and be "Nice" and give him $25 for it, then he's $25 closer to moving out of the in-laws, he'd only have $4,975 left to save! By the way, I don't see the problem with living with the in-laws anyway. I spent almost 3 years living with my future in-laws before moving out with the better half, and all the time and more over diesel fuel I've spent going back up there to help Mom with her computer "emergencies", it would have been much cheaper just to stay there!!
crazyjim Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 One million dollars and the guy still wants postage money. The Brat could be a fun build for $10.00.
Custom Hearse Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I made an offer of .99 cents for the Impala... I'll laugh my hind end off if he accepts it...
ra7c7er Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 I thought the Brat was cool. But not 5,000 grand cool. If you want to spend 5,000 on one you can get a real one in decent condition for the same price.
MikeMc Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I made an offer of .99 cents for the Impala... I'll laugh my hind end off if he accepts it... I upped it to $1.01
Custom Hearse Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I upped it to $1.01 :P  I got an e-mail from the seller to buy it for 29.95... He say's you and I are in competition for the thing now, and he has never received 2 offers at the same time.

Harry P. Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 You mean I gotta go to $1.03 ??? I also commented that shipping was high. I don't think the problem is that shipping is high. I think the problem is, the seller is high!!!
helmsman Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I like that brat. But it's Not worth more than $20 in my opinion.
Custom Hearse Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 You mean I gotta go to $1.03 ??? I also commented that shipping was high. Nope... $1.04... I don't think the problem is that shipping is high. I think the problem is, the seller is high!!! wHOa duDe... thE ColORs...
Skydime Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I think I know what happened with the price. I go to a site where people buy trade and sell customer 1:1 vehicles and they usually put $1 or $1,000,000.00 if they just want people to make offers to see what they actually can get out of them.
pepperdrumstix Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 That Chevy looks warped in the middle too. The front and back ends seem to curl up from the middle. Is it a 4 door? That might make it worth a few bucks. This might be an acetate plastic body that warps over time. Can't be repaired. Just like some early promo models I saw several years ago in the Largest Antique Mall in America near Columbus Ohio for sale for around $75--$80 each. Every one was warped in some way. I bought 4 older rare kits for $100. That was a good deal. Too many people think these old models are worth a fortune and they aren't. Good luck on those sale prices. Not enough centuries have past for them to be worth that much. Patrick M

But as long as people pay these prices, people will keep charging those ridiculous prices. Heck, I saw a Revell Integra on evilbay for about $50 bucks yesterday and it has bids!...ridiculous...I think it even said vintage on the auction. .....Ooh, it does! http://cgi.ebay.com/1-25-Revell-Acura-Integra-Type-R-RARE-VINTAGE-/260708008710?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D667838490482697219 Edited June 15, 2011 by Skydime
cherokeered Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I love how he has to squeeze that last $8 out of you for shipping because the cool 1 million isn't enough profit to include free shipping...
Harry P. Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 We all could pitch in and buy the kit.. Yeah, sort of like a time-share condo! We all chip in, say, ten grand apiece... and that buys us each two weeks with the model.
Jim Gibbons Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 If each of the 7,716 members of this forum contrbute 64.8 cents apiece, we can buy the Subaru. Question is, how does one divide the model into 7,716 pieces?

Here, they are very common - but there - not so much.
Drake69 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I'll buy the Brat for $5,000 if he buys all my kits for $10,000. Gotta help a brother out, ya' know....
SuperStockAndy Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 A million dollars, huh? I could buy 20 1:1 '59 Impalas for that price.
