Chuck Most Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 This is something I threw together over the course of a few days, just to try and help me get back into the rat rod groove. Basically, it's a cut down '40 Willys cab on a cut down '34 Ford frame, powered by a Mitsubishi four banger from a Dodge Ram 50. The rest is via the spares box or scratchbuilt. Just a basic hot rod that's good on gas and fits easily into any Compact parking space, and inspired by the song "One Headlight" by The Wallflowers.
Harold Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Cool stuff, Chuck. That narrowed '57 Desoto bumper- grille assembly is a slick touch.
hemi Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Man I love the push bar made from a camshaft, and the door panels made from plates. The road signs are a nice touch as well great job all around.
roadhawg Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 That camshaft caught my eye too. Cool! I wish I was half as creative.
Dr. Cranky Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Chuck, your work never ceases to amaze me. Another great addition to your garage. Keep 'em coming!
John Teresi Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Chuck......another work of art from a true ARTIST........I`m a big fan of your work man.
LAone Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 this is a really cool rat. i like all the creativity behind it. the engine and then the cam shaft. not only that, but it's automatic.
Sixties Sam Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Wow! So many creative touches, I don't know where to start! The 4-banger is cool. Road signs and license plates in the interior are great ideas! Camshaft in front is neat, and the DeSoto grille is a cool touch, too. Great work! Sam

Chuck Most Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 how did ya's get them front tire treads? thanks No idea what those came from- just dug them out of my spares box. But yeah, I picked them specifically because I thought the tread looked cool.

Danno Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Now, that's kewl! I love the camshaft for a frame spreader bar. The signs/plates in the interior are nice touches, and the japallac fourbanger is over the top! (Is the aircleaner from the Ram50, too?) Nice stuff!

Nope, that air cleaner's actually from an early '70's Datsun Z-car. So... it's a Mitsubishi mill, via Mopar, and adorned with a Datsun piece.
funhouse1 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 So creative!!..I agree, the cam is just too clever. Someone should do a 1:1, the HRM guys would freak.
Guest JamesDE Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Chuck that turned out sweet!!! That is a killer rat rod....
