turbo nova Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 sweet, excellent work as usual man. I wish I could find an accurate first gen nova body to build a replica of our's
tyrone Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 got some primer on this one today... I'm liking this one alot more without the side moldings.... debating on which wheels to use...
MitchP Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Tyrone: Man I love that fuel distribution block on the engine front. That nails the 1:1 look if I've ever seen it. I'd hate to try and keep up with your budget just on fittings LOL! Great job on bodywork!
am73grand Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Looks good man. I really like it without the side trim.
futurattraction Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I think I prefer the wheels in the bottom two photos than the wider-spoked wheels. Can't wait for some updates, Tyrone.
vette1955 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Side Molding or not this thing is awesome!! Your work is impressive!
tyrone Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 I think I prefer the wheels in the bottom two photos than the wider-spoked wheels. Can't wait for some updates, Tyrone. Thanks Scott... I'm going with the wheels on those pics that you like BTW...lol... I've got most of the body work sanding done last night...I also made a new set of wheelie bars for it I'm also switching the front rotors and pads to the ones from Scott, I was gonna run the headers out of the fenders, but instead I took the kit ones off and added some archer weld decals to them and modified the collectors a little, I'm gonna hit them with some different shades of alclad, and metalizer paints to simulate some heat being run through them....I think I'm gonna go back with blue/white top on this one..but a different shade of blue instead of the nassau blue I used last time... gonna try and have this one ready before Atlanta... thanks for looking and comments welcome...
freakshow12 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Don't know how I missed this Tyrone but it sure is pretty.
1 bad55 stan Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 That is a great looking nova! its wicked...
1969racer Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Top shelf build!!!!! Where do you get the wheels?
Devilsnake98 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Hey fellas... I blew the dust off this one and pulled it back out..lol... I was never satisfied with the paint on this one.. One of the doors got messed up when I was painting it, and when I repainted them I could never get the paint to match.. so I stuck the body in the purple pond to strip and redo.. I'm going to be making a few improvements also along the way... I decided not to go with the side body moldings, so i cut some thin sheets of stryene to fill them in... I think I'm gonna add some wheels from Micro Nitro to this one and I may make a set of fender exit headers too.. we'll see.. progress will be slow on this one.. just started fooling around with it last night.. thanks for looking and comments welcome...
MitchP Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Tyrone: Another wild and tastefully detailed build. Question for you please: based on a recent Hot Rod article about a gold "Fastest Streetcar", it used an MSD crank trigger magnet setup except the feeds to the plugs were all individual coil units. I see on yours you have a simple MSD coil used with your crank trigger system. May I ask how/where it's wired in? I see so many possibilities with your creations but I'm so new to the game I don't want to throw a bunch of stuff together that violates a real 1:1 relationship. Thanks and good luck with your competitions!
gasser59 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Always love your builds Ty. Glad this one's off the back burner. What color(s) are you thinking of?
