Stickit2gether Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I am new....well kinda I built models 20+ years ago and all I can say is WOW. this hobby has reallt came a long way and I have a lot to learn all over again. I see accronyms that i dont reconize. BMF not sure about. Anyone that could make a list of what they are and what they stand for I could save to favorites unntil I get use t the terms......until then Stickit2gether!!
RodneyBad Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) I do know that BMF stands for Bare metal foil. It is a Thin version of Tinfoil that comes with a adhesive backing to do your Chrome window trim and what-nots instead of using Silver paint. http://www.bare-metal.com/bare-metal-foil.html Edited July 27, 2011 by RodneyBad
highway Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Other than BMF, one other that I can think of offhand is CA or CA glue. That is more or less a fancy way of saying super glue. There is also ROG, which is any kit sold by Revell Of Germany.
Pete J. Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 PE - photo etched parts BMF - Bare Metal Foil CA - Cyanoacrylate Adhisive aka superglue CF - Carbon Fiber - generally refering to decals SMS - Scale Motorsport - After market company with several propritary model kits. Best know for there CF decals(see above) HLJ - Hobby Link Japan - Seller of kits and parts from Asia. These are the most common that I can think of at the moment

highway Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 MCM. 1,900... Is the MCM for the name of the magazine, or could it have another meaning Harry? Maybe Mentally Challenged Modelers?? What about the 1,900, is that how many kits you have? You're not doing a very good job explaining here Harry!!
Chuck Most Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Flip the last M in MCM over, and you get MCW, Model Car World, purveyors of fine scale automotive paints and resin kits. Oh, and to fans of the movie Pulp Fiction, BMF stands for something else entirely!
