chuckyr Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 A model I built several years ago. All graphics were created by me with an Alps printer. I never completely finished it.
BigBad Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Chuck, this is one heck of a nice Freightliner. I like the paint scheme. I like the look that the 2 hole budd wheels give it also. They give it a real "fleet" look. Did you add the clamps on the hoses in the engine compartment? Those look real good too. That kit was one I was trying to get since last year, but these are quite rare nowadays... That's another 5 star build up! One of my favorite "aero" trucks. Like them better than the Columbia, the Century or the Cascadia for that matter. Though they would make nice 1:24 or 1:25 scale subjects... Or why not just re-issue this kit? Anybody from Italeri listening?
chuckyr Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 The wheels are from RNK. They were the precursor to Clint Freeman Components (CFC). They also offered 5 hole wheels. Very rare. The hose clamps are from Detail Masters. I suspect Italeri will announce some new Freightliner kits. They are due for a new American truck kit.
Paul B Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Very nice. Very true to the real trucks that they used to run. Are you going to build a traier for it?
chuckyr Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Yes, I will finally build a trailer for it. Moebius says they are going to offer a smooth sided version of the reefer trailer. I think that will go nicely with this tractor.
kilrathy10 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I remember this one.....Very nice work on the paint and decals.....You made this kit look good....
BigBad Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 What's that Chuck, Moebius is supposed to get a smooth side reefer out sometime? That is nice!
Casey Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I never completely finished it. What needs to be done to call it finished?
chuckyr Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) Thanks, Hood mirrors, trailer hook ups, weathering, details. Yes, supposedly they are going to offer a smooth side reefer variation. I hear more stuff is being discussed. Hopefully the more we justify their investment by sales, the more they will consider offering. Edited March 9, 2014 by chuckyr
Custom Hearse Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 It looks great! I built one but I never added any decals to it. I never finished this one either...
chuckyr Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Nice work. There is always something you think you can add.
alangarber Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Very Nice I always wanted one of those kits but never did get one. Those are nice builds
