crazyjim Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Oh good. It's you. I thought I was loosing it.
Jantrix Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 I painted the frame to resemble wood. Got the top glued on and the steering wheel is nearly done. I still have to weather the top a bit. Comments and criticisms and ideas are kindly welcome.
Romell R Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Now this looks like its gonna be a fun Build!
Jantrix Posted September 9, 2011 Author Posted September 9, 2011 Thanks Rommel, if things go well at work today and tomorrow at work, I'll have the weekend off and will be getting back at it. The steering wheel is in the dip. I was unhappy with how it turned out. I'll try something else.
1320wayne Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Rob this is looking great. I really love the detail on the floorboards. And the top is killer. Can't wait to see more.
Jantrix Posted September 16, 2011 Author Posted September 16, 2011 Dashboard and steering wheel done. I also dirtified the top and added a lip on the inside of the roof so that it fits nice. If the shift lever and directional look a bit exaggerated it is intentional. Still working on the front seat. Body work very soon. Gotta hinge the trunk and we'll be ready for primer.
shucky Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Rob, the interior looks outstanding! Very creative, very nice.
John Teresi Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Rob.....man!!!!! .......this is bad to the bone.......VERY VERY COOL!!!!!!!!
Dr. Cranky Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I can't get enough of this build . . . that interior is beautiful, and fits the theme perfect!
Chuck Most Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 If only modern-day Pirates had this kind of style and swagger.
Janne Herajärvi Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 WOW, i love that interior! Keep on buildin
LAone Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 the interior looks great. like a captians lounge, not a dingy... keep up the great work.
Jantrix Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Okay as the weather has turned nasty (humid) for anything but painting of flats, the Jolly Roger is back on the bench. My big delay in this one lately is a design issue I was having with the front seats. I couldn't find anything I liked or that fit the theme decently. I have since found something that might do. More on that later. I have gone ahead and built the chassis and started the engine. I will do minimal detailing on this engine. Just the ignition wiring most likely. I'd like to have this ready for the IPMS Nats in August. If I haven't stated before, the paint job will be all flats (sorry Jim), black with a treasure map mural which will take up the entire surface of the car. I'm going to put the pirate flag on the trunk lid and a compass rose on the hood. Edited April 30, 2012 by Jantrix
Jantrix Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Nope ya didn't look up the page. Oh and guys, as always, I welcome any critiques or criticisms. Edited April 30, 2012 by Jantrix
Chuck Most Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Nope ya didn't look up the page. No, I meant missed like a long lost friend, not missed as in 'didn't see the thread'.
Jantrix Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 Oh. Wow. High praise. I'm glad to get back at it even more then. More soon.
Chuck Most Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 There'd better be. The only criticism I have of this project so far is the lack of recent updates!
Jantrix Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 Don't ya just hate it when you pick up the body pieces and head for the painting area to prime and THEN see the ejector pin marks under the hood?
Dr. Cranky Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 What a beauty this is turning out to be. Love the them and all the details that are theme inspired. Keep i going.
