I painted the frame to resemble wood. Got the top glued on and the steering wheel is nearly done. I still have to weather the top a bit.

Thanks Rommel, if things go well at work today and tomorrow at work, I'll have the weekend off and will be getting back at it. The steering wheel is in the dip. I was unhappy with how it turned out. I'll try something else.

Dashboard and steering wheel done. I also dirtified the top and added a lip on the inside of the roof so that it fits nice. If the shift lever and directional look a bit exaggerated it is intentional. Still working on the front seat. Body work very soon. Gotta hinge the trunk and we'll be ready for primer.

Okay as the weather has turned nasty (humid) for anything but painting of flats, the Jolly Roger is back on the bench. My big delay in this one lately is a design issue I was having with the front seats. I couldn't find anything I liked or that fit the theme decently. I have since found something that might do. More on that later. I have gone ahead and built the chassis and started the engine. I will do minimal detailing on this engine. Just the ignition wiring most likely. I'd like to have this ready for the IPMS Nats in August.

If I haven't stated before, the paint job will be all flats (sorry Jim), black with a treasure map mural which will take up the entire surface of the car. I'm going to put the pirate flag on the trunk lid and a compass rose on the hood.

Don't ya just hate it when you pick up the body pieces and head for the painting area to prime and THEN see the ejector pin marks under the hood?
