Reminds me of a local news story from this summer...Ford Windstar van, front passenger seat replaced with an armchair. Problem was there was no seatbelt and it wan't bolt in if I recall correctly (I'll see if I can find the story). I forget the reason for the roadside attention by the local constabulary, but it was not related directly to the armchair...happy coincidence?

Beanbag chairs in cars...definitely Darwin Award Nomination material!

 I so want to say something bad about whoever that was who asked that but, I won't. Strangely enough, there may be a good reason...like trying to prove someone else right or wrong. Edited by Skydime

I've seen milk crates, wooden boxes, and lawn chairs, none of which were bolted down.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you I taught High School Auto shop here in Arizona.

Best one was the '66 Chevell that was jacked up to look like a ,who knows what. Looked pretty good until he got it on the lift and most of the 2x4's fell out of the springs.

I've heard of buckets too....sometimes a bucket in a "bucket" Incidentally, I've never had a bucket in any of my "buckets" I've owned but, I have driven around the yard in the floor with vice grips for a steering wheel.

He's probably one of the (apprx.) 44% of drivers on AZ highways who has no driver's license or car insurance and cannot read the signs. :o:blink::wacko::huh::o

BTW - that statistic was according to the AZ Dept of Insurance several years ago ... hopefully the percentage is smaller now (as a result of increased and intensified enforcement).

A bean bad passenger seat? Someone trying to off their significant other? But I do remember a friend back in the mid 60's. Had a 57 Chevy. Had car totally apart doing body work. We put a 396 big block in it. Got the car running. He wanted to test drive it, but NO interior. So being the young genius' we were, decided a lawn chair would work for the test ride. Sooooo....he revs the engine, dumps the clutch. 57 Chev takes off hard. Lawn chair folds up with my buddy and heads toward the rear of passenger compartment. Luckly, 57 Chev stalls, rolls to a stop against the curb. Only damage is to buddies ego due to hesterical laughing. And strangely, no alcohol was involved. But the bean bag chair and 15 year old that does not know how to drive, can you say "thinning the heard"?

Now who here will do a model of it?

Of course you know we've already done that here ... I made a 1/25 beanbag chair for my daughters van I'm working on

The chair photos start on this page in my W.I.P. about halfway down if anyone is interested. :)

LOL! That's awesome!

Is that Mr T?? "I pity the fool who puts a beanbag in place of their car seat."

Years ago, when I still lived in New Zealand, I was hitch-hiking and was picked up by a guy whose whole left leg was in a plaster cast. He was using a long stick to work the clutch......
