Bigdad Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 This is my diorama based on the 1964 Jan and Dean song Little Old Lady from Pasadena. I saw the figure from Jimmy Flintstone at my LHS and the wheels started turning I planned on building a car to go with the figure and leaving it at that. But as I went along it grew into a dio the dog is because I had to come up with some reason for the old lady to be shaking that umbrella.
crazyjim Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Gorgeous and what a great idea. What's the source of that palm tree? Outlaw035 is looking for a sago palm.

Bigdad Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 Gorgeous and what a great idea. What's the source of that palm tree? Outlaw035 is looking for a sago palm. Thanks for the comments guys, I made the palm tree first I glued three pieces of sprue together bent them a little and wrapped them in masking tape. Then I added some Testors putty to the trunk to give it texture then painted it. The top is just some fallen stems off of a plant that my wife collected for me at her job I just glued them on with super glue and kicker.
trogdor Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Nicely done. I like all the little things like the partially open garage door, old lady, dog, and the tire against the garage to name a few.
charlie8575 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I like this. Well done. Charlie Larkin

TurboKitty Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 That is too cute! She looks like she's getting ready to thump that dog upside the head for soiling the tire! LOL "scram ya mangy mutt!"
Skydime Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) That's some great work there. She oughta get after that dog for wetting her tire. But the little old lady looks kinda like Popeye with that glass jaw. Edited September 21, 2011 by Skydime
sjordan2 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 This gave me a great big smile for its quality and humor. I never thought I'd ask this on a car forum but...what did you use for the dog pee?

Dr. Cranky Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I'm delighted you brought this one back to the front, Ron. I don't get tired of seeing this one and smiling. Goes to show how much fun you can have with a diorama!
