Chuck Most Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 And finally, a link to some beatiful restored stock and mild custom Hudsons done by noted photographer Ron Kimball http://www.kimballstock.com/results.asp?db=c&txtkeys1=hudson
Dr. Cranky Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Chuck, you sure do know how to CRANK UP the Lab-RAT-ory CREW!
Harry P. Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Nice collection of photos! If that doesn't get the old gears turning, nothing will!
Kris Morgan Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 (edited) The gray one at the top is nice. OMG, the vert that broke in two, that hurts. Thanks for posting the pics. Edited October 1, 2011 by Kris Morgan
crazyjim Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Those pics are of much nicer Hudson's than the other post about Hudson's. That grey one looks like it has the headlight bezels and grille from a '57 Olds.
jeffs396 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Great finds Chuck! I haven't seen any 1:1 drag cars yet though in my searching Here's a Hudson forum for reference pics: http://www.hudsonmotorcar.org/coppermine/displayimage/album=1/pos=1.html
Chuck Most Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Great finds Chuck! I haven't seen any 1:1 drag cars yet though in my searching Here's a Hudson forum for reference pics: http://www.hudsonmot...um=1/pos=1.html Not too many, but a few here- http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=531295
Foxer Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 After all the talk about the Hudson frame, those were welcome photos.
Chuck Most Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Yeah- I was really stoked when I found the coupe with the front end sheet metal off, then I stumbled across the stripped convert unibody... wow! Dave- not sure if the panels bolted on. I know Studebakers of the same vintage had bolt-on body panels, but I have no clue about the Hudsons. I was really blown away by those inner fender housings, though!
Dr. Cranky Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Great finds, Chuck, thanks for scouting all these great references for us.
Joe Handley Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Here's a locally owned, early Step Down Hudson (I'm guessing late 40's ) that I see every once in a while.
Smoothcustoms Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Both of these Hudsons belonged to the same owner. The Maroon and Cream sedan had some mild custom changes made 16 years ago The 48 Two door started life as a 4 door, and was finished about six years ago
Bigdad Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Thanks for the reference pics Chuck they are just what I needed.
