Bastardo Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 20 hours of work was needed to transform this pile of garbage I got from a modeller-friend in a poooooor state: ... into this:
outlaw035 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 nice weathering job...looks good....i to im a rust-o-holic....
David G. Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Excellent weathering - nice dents and dings too! David G.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Great weathering, buddy. Great job on those panels too . . . Nice work, this one almost looks like a modern day Zombie Hunter.
peter31a Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Oh! When I first saw this I was reminded of the Toyota truck that the crew at Top Gear (U.K.) beat the heck out of and it kept running. Your beater looks very realistic. Job well done.
LAone Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 sweet build. it reminds me of the hilux that top gear used on their show. it takes a lickin and its still a tickin.. awesome weathering.
Roger U Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Great build. The realistic weathering, rusting, dents, and holes in the body show a lot of imagination and work in creating this model.
Mister Twister Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Thats a true "beater" alright....Excellent work!
Bastardo Posted October 21, 2011 Author Posted October 21, 2011 Thanx for the comments, guys! I tried my best not to over-rust the poor thing. I've never scratched the paint off the hair-spray this carefully before in my life... All the weathering was done only with pigments (Mig and CMK) and a pointy brush. Once you get to know the technique, the results come up by themselves
