Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

I love the recent TV commercials too ... "Chevy runs deep."

Indeed. They bring back a lot of fond memories.

Remember 'See the U.S.A. ... in your Chevrolet'? I loved the GLEE production for the Super Bowl.

Those are very cool, and it goes to show that any new Chevy could never compare to the beauty of the old!

And that's the problem- they haven't designed anything considered to be a "classic" in 40 years.

I think a lot of those were for the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit in 2007. GM actually sells those in poster size but they are expensive. I personally like the '59 Chevy convertible with the caption, "Remember when your cup holder sat next to you and wore a poodle skirt?"

Great idea- promote all your 'fantastic new products' by trumping up stuff that's been out of production for fifty years. Glad to see your tax dollars going to good use, huh? :P

Goin out on a limb here - i think someone cooked these up in photoshop . not by chevy.

do you really think the advertising dept, would get away with referring to women as "cupholders"???

Nope, they're real. I saw a few on the Big Billboards. I've also seen them as posters for well over $100.

As the art director of an outdoor advertising agency, I know it's a rare billboard that can be pure hook and nothing more, like these. 95-percent of all advertisers I deal with want too much garbage on there to tell the rest of the story. It would be a privilege to design for a product so well known that the design is pure branding; no directionals, no phone numbers, addresses, product lines, sub heads, hours, list of services, rep photo, specials and a hundred other things motorists couldn't give a rat's patootie about in a four second read.

Ah, welcome to the Woodward Dream Cruise and automotive advertising. A month (August) where billboards are rented as much for the podestrian as well as the motorist. A weekend where a 20 mile stretch of US highway becomes a parking lot for 30,000 cars and party for 2-1/2 million of your friends...

Just a heads up if you like these Chevy billboard ads. I saw two or three of them ("...poodle skirt" was one of them) on the front wall of Hobby Lobby for $50.00 each, but they appeared to be five feet long and maybe two feet tall? They were thick, like a painting on a canvas stretched over a wood frame, so they were substantial looking. Might be worth checking out with the 40% off coupon in hand of your man cave needs some wall art.

Agreed, to me all the cars of today are the same ol lame pos and has no beauty what so ever lost that around the 80's.................

In fact in my opinion even the corvette after 1978 lost its appeal. The corvette of today does not have the flair or zing as it did in 1978, just my opinion.

They all look the same and there are a ton of the same model. I counted 350+ sunfires on an hour and a half round trip. At first it was funny..then it slowly became a little sickening!
