Nick Winter Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Well started this a while ago, someone said after the graphics were added to the doors, it might be cool if you built a trailer to match, so I did. Used the engine from the AMT '76 Caprice I had in the truck to replicate a 402 Big Block, converted the cab to a Small Back window. Nick I have more photo's to be posted.
bandit1 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 not bad! whats the wire thingy for running under the truck (yellow) just wait till i get my horse trailer done ! ... can someone say 38 ft goosneck elite 4 horse slant with living quarters and a roll out awning!!!
Nick Winter Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Thanks Guys, Sean to be honest I can't remember, I did the majority of the assembley nearly a year ago, Just dug it out and finished it this morning. Nick
62rebel Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Attention, Terry Jessee.... check your rear view mirror; Nick is gaining on you.....
Jordan White Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Nick: isn't that wire for the trailer wiring? (Though in real life it would come from the taillight wiring)
Kit Basher Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Good work, Nick. Nice details. I like the rubber around the grille and marker lights on the truck, and the scratched step bumper. Did you scratch the toolbox as well? The trailer is really good too!
Nick Winter Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 Thanks Guys, Curt: I wish, still a long way to go before I catch Terry Jordan: That makes sense, wish I could tell you for sure what I was thinking. I checked the date on when the first pictures (frame and stripped body parts) was taken and it said 1/10/10 so it's been on my bench a lot longer than I thought. Hugh, I scatched the Tool box a very long time ago, was one of my first scratch built items, just so happen to fit this trucks box. Nick
Rob Hall Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Neat...need some scale horses for the trailer....not sure if Breyer or Schleich makes any in 1:24th/1:25th.
Nick Winter Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 Thinking of stopping by a toy store and seeing what they have, not really sure where to look for some horses, did how ever take some measurements of how big they should be to be appropriate in size to the truck/trailer. Nick
Scalper Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 nice job Nick.. Cool looking truck and trailer.
crazyjim Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Very, very nice, Nick. Needs a horse though.

Nick PAY ATTENTION YOUR GOING TO LEARN SOMETHING NICK! 1 hand = 4 inches average height of a horse is 16 hands! so if 4 inches is 1 hand...then take 4 and multiply it by 16 which gives you 64 inches which comes out to 5 .3 ft in height and where you take the measurement is go from the bottom of the hooves (call them feet and ill hunt you down and slap ya') and go straight up to the top of the withers ...diagram for ya to help understand as follows... http://www.deannesweb.com/horses/horseparts/page3.html that will get you the measurement you need for you!
Joker Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 That GMC is a work horse.. its got the correct "shoes" in the back for digging in. Great build..thanks for posting.
62rebel Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 i noticed those suburbanite mud-n-snow tires too.... i have four stashed waiting for that perfect build, since whoever is doing the AMT/MPC tires hasn't seen fit to repop them since the Cooter's Tow Truck. "snow tires" used to be an annual thing when i was a kid; Dad had 'em put on right after Halloween and they stayed until April.
