Scale-Master Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Another back row find… I had a body, a windshield, most of an interior and a chassis left over from doing the decal art for the Testors reissue of the JoHan 442, oh, and a Revell parts pack turbine. The tail pipe and heat shield on the passenger side hint that something is different… Testors Ice Blue Pearl for the body… With a second coat mixed with clear to sort of ghost out the striping. Yeah, it’s a replica of a real car, sure it is… Nothing like tinkering around with leftover parts…
Scalper Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Sweet...A turbine Olds. Nice build nice and clean.
Chuck Most Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Sweet! Question- when did Revell do a parts pack turbine? I'm guessing they aren't the easiest thing to find.
krazyglu Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I'm really liking the back shelf ones ha ha. Paint looks awesome...I like the idea of mixing it with some clear for a final coat. I like everything you have posted since your shelf cleaning began. You seem to have really interesting subjects and a nice clean building style...win win.
Lunajammer Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 That's such an amazing and mysterious engine. Looks great! Except everyone knows the wangdangler went into the snufflewuzzer only on the 68's.
PARTSMARTY Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 one thing i love is great original ideas and you made it happen-"big time"-awesome.
crazyjim Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Terrific build. Love the color and SHINY :)
spkgibson Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Very cool concept, I love that paint job!
mr moto Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Really cool build! I love to see stuff that's different. The turbine was part of Revell's initial line of Parts Paks in the 60's. From what I've heard, it's based on absolutely nothing but the imaginations of a few guys at Revell who cobbled together a master from odds and ends. They're hard to find but I got one on Ebay for not too much money - they show up every now and then. Still haven't figured out what to do with it!
rustybill1960 Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 WOW!! Super-Terriffic build!! Love the engine! Very sharp clean build Man!! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
