I have three questions.

1. Why did you paint the grille shell in that silver? Every single pic of a Bentley I've seen has the grille shell in chrome...

2. Looking at the whole thing, and comparing it with pics of the real car(s) I think that the structure on the body is a bit over the top, It seems that whatever they used to cover the body was less "different" from the rest of the car. Mosly just "flat". Also the color difference seems more subtile, I'd wash it a little, just to tone it down.

3. Given the fact that you are so incredibly skillfull, why did you not build the spokes out of wire or somethin'? Now, when you have it all together, they annoy a bit because you can see that they are molded...

Other than that, I love it. Hopefully mine in 1:25 will be half as good.

What a beautiful build.

It's hard for me to be critical of such a great effort because for one, you're doing an outstanding job and two, I'm just getting back into building and feel like a royal hack and haven't yet earned the right to be critical. But it's harder for me to leave it unsaid...because the devil is in the details and on this fine a creation it's almost like a supermodel with a big zit on her nose. lol. So please take this as intended...to be constructive.

As mentioned a couple times, the rock guard for the windscreen could really stand to be much finer. That coffee filter mesh that was suggested looks spot on. Not only would it look more correct to scale, but it would also add an extra dimension of contrast, being that the same screen is in use in several other places already. This, and also mentioned, a wash over the "fabric" body to tie the tones together. These could well be those last little details that takes your exceptional piece and sends it straight over the moon.

Once again, more details that other builders don't know about or think about. In this case. the retaining straps on the doors found on many cars of the era. I've been planning that for my 30s Mercedes and Rolls builds, and I thought I'd be among the first to observe it. Oh, well.

It has been my experience that if I plan on doing something unique or unusual, John's probably beat me to it. lol

What are the hood straps made of? Same question on the hood handles. And how did you form them? Freehand filing to shape or something else?

Hello......sorry I forgot to post these 2 photos.......

DSCF2615.jpg

I used this thin aluminum ......cut and filed to shape for handles.

DSCF2614.jpg

I used the medical bandage tape .........cut to length......painted and drilled small holes and dabbed black fine ink pen into the holes.......and used the wire for the buckles.....thanks

I'm a little late to the party here, but WOW, WOW, and WOW! Gorgeous build, John. I had a Pyro (?) 1/32 scale kit of that car when I was a kid. Your build makes me want to go out and score another one. Not that it would even come close to your level of detail.... Your's is a work of art.

John...... you're probably aware that UR6571 actually exists and, from pictures I've seen, does differ slightly from your build, mostly in the color. But please don't change a thing....... except maybe the licence plate? LOL
