weasel Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 well, all my BAD models go into the cabnets under the bench to be pulled out at a later date...read, never!!?? lol
Dr. Cranky Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Sometimes it just helps to put it away for a while or simply walk away . . .
djway3474 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I would not give up. But then again I remember loads of fun as a kid smearin tube glue all over and strikin a match LOL
GTMust Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I agree with the Doc. Put it aside until you feel the challenge again. To good so far to junk it... and you never know when re-inspiration will hit. Personally, I think you captured the Stude look pretty well. Tony
martinfan5 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) Fire! hhhhh, fire! hhhhhh fire!,hhhh, , I have no idea what to tell you, put it away for latter then burn it Edit- just in case no one gets the fire thing, its from beavis and butthead Edited December 3, 2011 by martinfan5
kennb Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 maybe it will look better with a roof and windows.
Harry P. Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Looks like you have plenty of hours into it so far. Why give up now? Like the guys said, maybe put it aside and move on to something else... get back to it when the mood strikes. But definitely don't trash it!
sweptline64 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) It's looking like a good start to me the front really looks like a stude so I say put it away and come back to it later, That's what I do when I get frustrated with a build which is why I usually have about five or six builds going at one time. But if you ultimatley decide to burn it then I would recomend putting a model rocket engine into it and watch it fly then explode me and a freind did that to a corvette when I was a kid it was fun to watch it skate across the ground then go vertical and explode. But seriously put it away and come back to it later. Edited December 3, 2011 by sweptline64
customsrus Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Or there is a third option, you can send it to me. LOL. I agree with everyone else put it away for awhile and then come back and finish it.
Green Duster Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Dont give up. I've got some( quite a few), that I can't finish. Got a 71 Charger with a Viper drivetrain. Been going on for over a year. I have a 76 Pacer P/Street been going at that for 6 months. As the frog going in the pelican's mouth says: NEVER GIVE UP!
SuperStockAndy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Don't give up, that'll look awesome finished.
Jesse D Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/eventcoverage/0612rc_goodguys_columbus_auto_show/photo_29.html Check this out!
Skydime Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Oh yeah! Definitely put it in the box for a while. I would hate to see this meet an end after taking a look at the link posted by Jesse.
diymirage Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 find a fellow member on here with a stalled project of his own and exchange projects you finish his and he finishes this...that might be cool ?
Rdkingjay Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Yep, put it away and try again later. I have an old Revell flip nose '66 Chevelle, that I lowered and pro-streeted and painted sublime green. Same thing, do a few things, put it away. No rhymn or reason, its just one of "those" models.
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Looks like you got a good start. What about it are you not happy with? bobthehobbyguy
sjordan2 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 If you can make the roof and side panels go with the curves of the body, finish it. If it's going to stay square like this, burn it.
disabled modeler Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Ill bet it will look better when you have some window outlines in it...if it gets to you put it aside and take a break from it. Works for me all the time and I usually start with build-ups or junk....no real hobby shops around here.
