Craig Irwin Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 (edited) Here in Indiana you can be stopped for window tint at any time, The law has something to do with % of tint. And the guy that pulled out in front of my brother told the cop he didn't see a Ford Thunderbird with its lights on because of his window tint! It was at sunrise on a clear stretch of state highway. Rob McKee Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Here in Indiana you can be stopped for window tint at any time, The law has something to do with % of tint. And the guy that pulled out in front of my brother told the cop he didn't see a Ford Thunderbird with its lights on because of his window tint! It was at sunrise on a clear stretch of state highway. Craig, sorry to hear what happened to your brother. I hope he didn't end up with any injuries that will haunt him for life. My comment wasn't directed at the window tint, more towards the way the Police tend to setup to get the average guy driving his car not causing any real problems. I had an experience some time ago where a cop was setup in the driveway of a home watching for people who didn't make a full stop at a stop sign. Normally I would have no issue with this but the stop sign was useless. There was no traffic or pedestrians crossing the path of the road and therefore nobody stopped at the sign. It shouldn't have been there in the first place but someone saw it fit to put it there in advance of a contruction project. Once the new subdivision was in place the sign made sense. Anyway, he setup there at 7 am nailing those who were on their way to work. Just a cash grab in my opinion. Needless to say I got pulled over. I told the cop how I felt about his presence there and he wrote me a warning. Man, I lost it on him verbally and I thought I would end up in the clink. Funny thing is, the Police never returned to this spot and a few weeks later the stop sign was removed.
Craig Irwin Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Believe me, I know how cops can be, around here they get drunk and kill people and don't even loose their jobs. But sometimes "Not hurting anybody" can get someone killed.

But sometimes "Not hurting anybody" can get someone killed. Tell me about it. We have one that lives across the street from us, he always floors it when he leaves. No lights or siren. From a story I've heard, he's also racist. I guess some cops think they can get away with anything.
Lownslow Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Why is it that the cars with the loudest stereos seem to be driven by people with the worst taste in...em...music?? i listen to queen, megadeth, poison, slayer, iron maiden and metallica full blast with the windows down i get dirty looks all the time so taste in music has nothing to do with it, i also dont look the part of a typical rocker so i get just as many funny looks. i rarely play music loud enough to be heard more than 5 feet away. next summer when i upgrade the component speakers the subwoofer will be the least of peoples worries hahaa theyll hear it coming down the road from 2 blocks away jamming to the sounds of A Ha
Chuck Most Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 And whats with the moustaches? Does one have to be a moustache enthusiast in order to be a police officer? (I'm only half joking...)
JamesW Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I get funny looks when I blast some country music. lol
Guest Johnny Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Can't pull a 4 ton trailer with a Preius. True but most just use them to drive to soccer practice or the mall!
Junkman Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 True but most just use them to drive to soccer practice or the mall! I thought they drive a mile to the gym, run two miles on a conveyor belt, then drive back home.
Erik Smith Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I thought they drive a mile to the gym, run two miles on a conveyor belt, then drive back home. What? Don't be an idiot! You totally forgot the stop at Starbucks!!!
MicroNitro Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 And whats with the moustaches? Does one have to be a moustache enthusiast in order to be a police officer? (I'm only half joking...) I think they watched to much Magnum PI. Now the as for donuts...
Wayne Buck Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 LOL! Sounds like the MOST ridiculous trend yet...and I hope it never comes my way! Why not just put it on the roof instead, like the Ice Cream man? BTW, noise pollution is STRICTLY enforced in my neck of the woods. When I had my T/A on the road with a 3" SLP cat-back and (supposedly 50-state legal) Flowmaster muffler, I had a pile of tickets like John Milner... ALL for "loud exhaust".

That's when you run open headers and make everyone really mad
Junkman Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 A most annoying trend is making the round over here. Some juvenile gits fit a device to their 0.9 Litre naturally aspirated 40 PS Twingos and Saxos, that simulates the hiss of the wastegate of a turbocharged rally car. Complete with a little cloud of steam, which AFAIK is generated with water from a water bottle that needs to be kept filled.
James2 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 The only time there's large horns behind a grill around here, is when someone hits a cow with their truck!
Rob Hall Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Funniest thing are the people who seem to put more money in the stereo than the car itself...seen many worn out junkers w/ loud sound systems...what's the point?
Harry P. Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Funniest thing are the people who seem to put more money in the stereo than the car itself...seen many worn out junkers w/ loud sound systems...what's the point? Same concept as putting $3500 worth of custom wheels on a car that's worth $500.
Rob Hall Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Same concept as putting $3500 worth of custom wheels on a car that's worth $500. Yeah...makes no sense.
Junkman Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Same concept as putting $3500 worth of custom wheels on a car that's worth $500. Donk?
Joe Handley Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Funniest thing are the people who seem to put more money in the stereo than the car itself...seen many worn out junkers w/ loud sound systems...what's the point? Seen that before, even think I had a clunker like that knock rust off my clunker from 30 paces.
SuperStockAndy Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Same concept as putting $3500 worth of custom wheels on a car that's worth $500. Sad thing is, some good cars get the "donk" torture
Tony T Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Stereos and wheels are transferable to other vehicles, though.
