Jesse D Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I'm lookin for read wheel drive conversions in hondas, v12 swaps in v8 cars and things like that. What y'all got?
diymirage Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 i got a handfull. here is a mid 50s or so VW bug, converted to a front engine rear wheel drive custom turbo the engine is from a type 2 gold and the rear axle from a toyota supra this is an acura type S 8 cylinder im working on (almost done too) it runs the stock engine in the front and a civic engine in the rear which makes it AWD (even with two engines it still can't keep up with a blown mopar) heres a ford focus with a blown 572 big block from a bigfoot monster truck in it (first swap i ever did) and finally the all electric dodge superbee MPC body on a RC frame. i build this for my son, lasted about a week
Wagoneer81 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Is this crazy enough? 351 Cleveland, fuel injected with a belt driven supercharger... Shoehorned into an '87 T-bird. I've done a little more since this pic was taken, the fuelrails have been added and the distributor has been wired. Unfortunately, this project, like so many others was packed away when I moved and, for the time being, is in storage...
rhs856 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 41 chevy with an LS9 Corvette engine and chassis (in progress).
Chuck Most Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Viper V-10, hooked to a Corvette torque tube/transaxle in a '75 AMC Matador.
Dr. Cranky Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Some pretty wild and interesting conversions!
Jesse D Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Wow!! Guys. What happened to that super bee? Wagoneer81 That's perfect. I love everything about it.
customsrus Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 How a bout an LS corvette engine in a Toyota Celica. Or a Viper V-10 in a 41 Chev Truck
customsrus Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 How bout an Thunderbird with a V-16 Or maybe a Turbo straight 8 in a 40 Chrysler truck
customsrus Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Here are a couple of Volkeagons with Ferrari engines.
Patrick2005 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) How about a 5.4 Supercharged V8 in an Explorer?? Sorry about t he poor quality of the pics. Edited December 5, 2011 by Patrick2005
Dave Ambrose Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it's a wild one. I put the motor from a Dragula into a chopped '25 T.
slantasaurus Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I just finished this swap last week, Boss 302 into a 75 Ford Capri, the engine compartment is very narrow on this kit.
diymirage Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Wow!! Guys. What happened to that super bee? Wagoneer81 That's perfect. I love everything about it. it started life as a (i think) maisto remote control 2010 challenger i had gotten a superbee in on trade that was allready missing the drivetrain so it was a perfect candidate after i removed the chally body and made some blocks for the 'bee to sit on which (after radiussing out half the rear quarters) dropped right on
Wayne Buck Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I posted this in another thread about a week ago that seems to have gotten buried... Not finished yet, but the plan is to keep everything bone stock on the "T", except the engine and trans. Did it more as a joke... Obviously, in reality, it wouldn't be too practical... I'd bet if it were real, and the ring and pinion and wheels would hold up, she'd do some pretty mean burnouts! LOL
Jesse D Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 That thing would waste them narrow lil tires!!
blue504life Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Saleen supercahrged 4.6 in 64 thunderbolt
The Creative Explorer Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Still working on it, but this Porsche 911 gets a twin-turbo v-8 in the front with a trans-axle gearbox in the back
Rick Schmidt Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) Shane, Thats a Supercharged pushrod 5.8 in there This is a Supercharged 4.6 .... Hiding in an 87 Thunderbird Give me some time I may be able to come back here to post a Supercharged 5.4 hiding in a 92 T Bird hehe Edited December 5, 2011 by Rick Schmidt
blue504life Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 You are correct Rick. I was going off what the box said. I think revell changed the box in the past few years
Jesse D Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 I'm amazed so far. That TT awd Porsche is somethin else.
