4bangen Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 So I've had this idea for some time now, finally made it happen. took my old 40 ford and put it where it belongs, in the pasture!
4bangen Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 I had a lot of fun and plan on doing A LOT more of these. its the perfect size for a mantel or to sit on a desk, and not take up to much room.
ZombieHunter26 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Lovin' the weathering job you did! very nice. Anything else lined up on the bench(dio-wise)?
Eshaver Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 A fine job young man ................. Ed Shaver
4bangen Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 I have two more, both Christmas presents for loved ones. clay is drying as I type. just need to make sure the kitchen is leaned up by the time the wife gets home.
crazyjim Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 That looks excellent. Some of the forum members are going to go nuts over it.
W-409 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Making rusted cars is not easy, as I realised when I tried... You've done this very nicely, and diorama looks very good too. Great job on those rust holes. They look realistic, the size is just perfect and so on. Great diorama.
GTMust Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 What everyone else already said.......... and more! Great work. Almost real! Tony
4bangen Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 I laugh because I've actually said that this car has "my favorite rust hole" on it. lol. It's now on display at Old Town Hobby Shop in Lewisville TX. and I must say I'm hooked, I've always liked looking at my cars when there done. But now its like if I get at just the right angle, I'm really there with it. I am almost done with the two I'm doing as Christmas presents. I enjoyed working with the camaro but the mustang was one of the worst kits I've ever touched. I still need to put a few finishing touches on both but figured I'd share what I have done so far. and
David G. Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Excellent work on all of those, but I think the old Ford is the best of the lot. David G.
High octane Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 While I'm not at all a fan of rust, rot, dings, dents, etc., your '40 Ford dio has character and looks really good, great job!
outlaw035 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 they all look good but the 40 is my fav....rust rules....
rmvw guy Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I vote for the 40 but, nice work on all three!
gasser59 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Another beautiful aspect of these is they'll never need dusting.
