crazyjim Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 And my second most recent build is this 1957 Chrysler painted white with HOK sparkles and fogged with HOK sunset pearl. Dummy here forgot to take an interior pic so this is the best I could do.
W-409 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 THIS IS COOL! Great paint job, like the color and those paint shade differences are done very nicely. Cool Old School Custom, grille looks very good too. Like that engine-nice chrome parts and detailing is great. Very nice job.
crazyjim Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Thanks again, Niko. My friend, Fatkidd, told me how to do the paint. The fogging came out pretty good I think. I kick myself in the butt for not taking a good interior pic. Bucket seats front & back with a full length console. I think it's one of my best interiors. Hard to see, but the engine has an engine oil and transmission dipsticks. The grill was made from mesh and then pin heads inserted. Did I mention the '56 Olds Fiesta hubcaps?
Peter Lombardo Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Wow, that is really neat. The color and the lighter fade on the side looks perfect. That is such period correct paint job.....really great! This one of the nicest '57 Chrysler's I have seen. First rate! I also love the license plate.......I have one of those ribbons from my military days.
fatkidd Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Jim, This thing turned out awesome! The fade is spot on and the grille gives it its own attitude. Great job, my friend.
Harry P. Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Why do I suddenly have an urge for a dreamsicle?
oldscool Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Man, I am digging that drawer knob grille! That really takes me back. Did someone mention period correct? That is beautiful! gus
krazyglu Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Wow Jim I guess i didn't need to wait at all, but simply scroll down . I think this is my favorite kit of any I have seen you share. You did a outstanding job on the fogging and it sets the tone for this build. Awesome awesome paint Jim and I know that is your thing. As mentioned above the grille is wicked and I like those hub's.
bsoder Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Very cool Jim...the fade came out sweet, just a great look B)
crazyjim Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 Thank you for the compliments. I have to say thanks again to Fatkidd. He's the guy that told me how to do the fade and even gave me some white sparkle pearl to help the project along.
