crazyjim Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 At 11:00am our temp was only 39 going to a scorching 45 today. Tonight is supposed to be only 20! It feels like I'm back in the Chciago area. At least there'ss no cold, white stuff in our forecast. Almost time to get all bundled up to go outside and cover some of our plants for tonight's freeze.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Yes sir, it's cold, but very very bright. Great light for photographing models!
MrObsessive Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Ha! Here in Central PA, we're not going to get out of the 20's today if we're lucky! I still have no furnace in my place due to the bank draggin' their feet so the contractor can start the work. Thank goodness for space heaters-------I'm gonna hate to see the electric bill later though! Edited January 3, 2012 by MrObsessive
crazyjim Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Global warming forgot to check in with Canada. That's where all this cold air is coming from. Hear me, Nick? Please stop sending your cold weather down here. I doubt if I'll be having any shop time today. Too cold out there.
Harry P. Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 39 degrees is "cold?" That's funny right there...

pepperdrumstix Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Phx AZ has had record heat in the last few days. Last year at this time we were in the middle of our first freeze of the year. I did lose some plants then but I remembered to cover my outdoor facets. Good times, both, to hit the bench and build. I almost did some painting outside yesterday. Phx has had hot temps in the colder months in the past, 95 on Nov 3rd in 1932. I wasn't here then, wasn't even born till '50, but I read about those high temps in the past. Take care and be glad you don't live in the real cold places in the world. I can't imagine trying to build a plastic model in 30 or more degrees below zero. Even indoors it would be cold. Keep building. Patrick
pepperdrumstix Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I think Global Warming turned into Climate Change which explains all weird weather now. Hang in there friends, we have a whole new year to deal with. Watching my temp gauges and building and planing the next builds, good weather or not. I can't change the weather but I can change the builds I am working on. Having fun in the sun in Phx AZ. Patrick
SuperStockAndy Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Where did that global warming go???  Jimmy, you wouldn't last a minute in Indiana winter!!

Agent G Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I officially hate you. Weather is the reason I moved here! That, and showgirls....................... I do not miss midwestern weather, 95 degrees with 98% humidity. Ice, snow, and sleet. All in the same 24 hour period! What's the saying? You know you are from St Louis if you wear a parka and shorts at the same time. G
Chuck Most Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I think Global Warming turned into Climate Change which explains all weird weather now. Speaking of... whatever happened to "The Greenhouse Effect"?

crazyjim Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 No way, Robert. This is NOT why I moved to Florida from Chicago. Oh wait - weather update. The computer now tells me it's 45 outside and sunny. I'm going to get layered up and venture outdoors into frozen tundra and cover some plants so they don't freeze tonight.

my66s55 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 It's supposed to reach 49 degrees today, but the windchill is making it feel much colder. It's only supposed to last a couple of days and then return to normal. Yes, It's cold for people in the 40 degree range and most wear a coat with a hood and gloves here when they walk their dog.
