If you guys email me what your building and the name of it, I will keep an updated list of who is working on what that I can post each week or two. Email me your name as it appears in my list or if you are not on the list and want to be (and if you are on the list and aren't participating), let me know at Uberdeath322@gmail.com. hotrodblder Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I am waiting for a time to get some updated pics of my buddy's race car to finish my contest build. So in the mean time I thought I could get some stuff done on Bad Karma. I wasn't diggin' the paint job after a while. So since it was still a young p'up I decided some swimming lessons were in order. Into the purple pond we go. Stripped her neckid. Did some body messaging. Added some rust throughs around the fender wells. I tried the salting method. I think it worked ok, I'm gonna leave it alone. After I did all of my painting over the salt and got it all cleaned up it doesn't look all that bad. It almost looks like an all new style of camo. I have yet to start any of the rest of the weathering. So I thought I would throw in a few shots to see what kind of comments I can drum up. On with the EYE CANDY!!! Btw, I think my cell phone actually takes better pics than my dadgum camera.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Nice rusting effect, Shawn! Got the pics saved. Thank you.
hotrod59f100 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Current statis of (hummer time). Comments a welcomed. Let me know what you think.

hotrodblder Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) CRANKY, I'M CALLIN' YOU OUT!!! Ok, just kiddin'. I sat here and literally watched your videos on you tube and worked on Bad Karma at the same time. I have NEVER attempted anything like this before. All of my models have been mostly shiny hot rod, muscle car, street machine, full out drag car types. This time I decided to jump in with both feet and this is what happened. I think it looks pretty dadgum good myself. I'm just hoping the rest of the build turns out this good. Please feel free to comment good or bad. P.S. Virgil, Thank you VERY MUCH for your videos. Without them I would not have learned how to broaden my modeling skills more than they already were. You should see my key board now, since my work bench is my pc desk, the keys have pigment finger prints all over them from working and typing, lmao. It's really funny and cool at the same time. Again, Virgil, I'm glad to call you a modeling friend. Edited March 3, 2012 by hotrodblder
UberDeath322 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Everyone's builds look awesome! I can't wait to see them all finished.
62rebel Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 i watched a new flick last night called "The Dead".... folks; i think we won't have the time to do involved vehicles like these when the ZA (zombie apocalypse) happens..... we'll be lucky to find gas and open roads without roadblocks full of nervous troops with itchy trigger fingers and orders to kill. and, even with fuel and running vehicles, what is the destination? scary premise..... relentless undead roaming the land.... and i do mean RELENTLESS.... they never stop, never sleep, always following whatever sense leads them to the living.... but ya'll keep it up. i enjoy looking at these machines of our last desperate acts of survival!

I rented movies just now and I saw that one. But to me it only really highlighted 2 main characters, so I put it back. Maybe next time I'll bet it and see what it's like.

NITRO BURNER Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 What we are doing comes later than this. Orgainised troops are gone. People are gone. All that is left are the innovators and the living that are harder to kill than the zombies themselves. Yes much later..those troops and their leaders try to killer the zombies with nuclear bombs.thus the cities are destroy! all thats left are flatlands and farmlands...thats where you start to find older cars/trucks and tools to build these vehicles! As we all know farmers also have gift of building anything
