Well I got further ahead then I thought . I did change it up . Sorry doc if it messed up you video. From now on my model will be left in my bedroom aka my work aera. I used the intake plenum from a dodge viper as a fresh air cooling unit for the gun. The hatch came from my masto humve . The guns mounted on the wall are from a cheap Walmart action figure. I had to raise the hight because the wheels would rub the fenders other wise. Well let me know what you think.

The cooling fan on VW is driven by the fanbelt which turns the gen/alt. The cooling fan is mounted opposite of the pully on the back of the gen/alt. (except on Type 3 & 4, those are driven off the crankshaft) An intake scoop cannot make it spin faster to cool more, the mechanically driven fan will always spin in relation to the speed of the engine. It would, be a source of clean air, but the intake is usually directly behind the body in a low pressure area, which should be plenty clean in the first place.

OK, its all coming back to me . I've never seen that kit in person before. It looks similar to the Shalako buggy, but with no headlights. Again, not trying to slight your build, the work your doing is great. Just saying an elaborate intake like that would be better suited feeding the intake system, not the cooling system. :)

Thanks, that explains it much better.

A small up date with a finicky tape up .. had to snap photo quickly before intake pipe dropped out.. eheh so not great sharpness .. but will do for this. Hopefully I'll get my Plumbers Union card back .. though this isn't a very efficient intake it looks good in my mind!

heheh .. I don't mind. Jason. I got Zombie fever and wanted to use that intake scoop from the kit and didn't think. Halfway through I came to my senses about what I was doing but it was too late! The engine has twin turbos so maybe I can rig some intake plumbing off the shroud.

The engine is from the Skorpion kit I used for the chassis.

Alright guys. I've gotten slightly better(thanks to my wonderful friend Naproxen!) and I'm ready to start getting back into the swing while my head is allowing me to function as a normal human being rather than trudging about in a near zombified state(iseewutyoudidthar!).

I'm going in a slightly different direction this time around, and instead of building something from the ground up...

...I'm going to be finishing 2 of my dad's(62rebel) builds.

I visited him today, and after some discussion about models and techniques(as most of our conversations go nowadays :P) he handed me a box with two builds he'd thrown together a few months ago and simply said "take these and finish 'em!".

As I can recall, he's only trusted me to finish something art-wise of his one other time in my life- which was AT LEAST two decades ago when he had me finish a comic strip he had outlined for him to kind of guide my hand artistically. I attribute almost ALL of my artistic talents to the guidance and support he's blessed me with over the years, so as you can guess, I'm taking this as an honor.

The next two builds I will be posting will be a collaboration of sorts between my father and myself. He's done 99% of the build on one model, and from what I can see about 85% one the other, so my charge is to slightly alter and or add to the builds. I will also be giving these builds their final touches and paint jobs.

Those of you who know my father know he's not one for posting images, and that's his own personal choice- so this will also be a unique opportunity for you guys out there to see his style of build in a roundabout kind of way, mixed with a few of my personal touches.

I will post some photos later in the day, once I wake up and get out of the "I just woke up" funk.

Keep your eyes peeled!

EDIT: I will also be coming up with some back stories to complement each vehicle. :D

ose with question marks next to your names, you have posted to this thread but have not made it clear if you ar joining or not. I have only posted select pieces of what people have said they will work on when they started or have let me know after I made this list, and have not really gone through and updated what you guys are actually working on. I counted 120, including the names with question marks.

If you guys email me what your building and the name of it, I will keep an updated list of who is working on what that I can post each week or two. Email me your name as it appears in my list or if you are not on the list and want to be (and if you are on the list and aren't participating), let me know at Uberdeath322@gmail.com (this is not the Doc's email). Any other info you want included in the list, let me know.

Ok, here it is. I appolagize for the pink back ground boys, but it is all I could find at the time. I am going to try to build a few contraptions like this and magnetize them like on Crankys tutorial so I have a few more zombie killing options. I have along way to go on this, but I dont get very much time during the week to work on it. I have this weekend off, so you will probably be seeing a few posts and pics on this one in the next 2 days.2012-03-09_19-54-53_143.jpg2012-03-09_19-53-08_307_Kearney.jpg2012-03-09_19-50-01_472.jpg
